In this work, the defective Cu-BDC with different defect concentration and Cu/Cu coordinatively unsaturated sites (CUS) content were designed and synthesized by introducing defective linkers with different p values. The low-concentration defects in Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) structure act as the active sites to enhance their photocatalytic activity. In contrast, the high concentration defects serve as the recombination centers of photogenerated electrons and holes to decrease the transfer efficiency of charge carriers. Cu-BDC-FBA shows an excellent bifunctional photocatalytic performance for overall water splitting due to the suitable defect concentration, which gives an oxygen production rate of 3114 μmol g h and hydrogen production rate of 16 829 μmol g h, respectively. It is expected that this study can deepen the understanding of the relationship between defects and photocatalytic activity, and provide a new idea for the design and synthesis of defective MOFs photocatalysts with excellent performance.

To analyze in-hospital mortality in children undergoing congenital heart interventions in the only public referral center in Amazonas, North Brazil, between 2014 and 2022. This retrospective cohort study included 1041 patients undergoing cardiac interventions for congenital heart disease, of whom 135 died during hospitalization. Records were reviewed to obtain demographic, clinical, and surgical data.

Osthole exhibits strong inhibitory activity against phytopathogenic fungi; however, its antifungal mechanism remains unclear. This study assessed osthole's inhibitory effects on several phytopathogenic fungi, revealing a half-maximal effective concentration of 70.03 μg/ml against the hyphal growth of .

Reconstructing bone defects remains a significant challenge in clinical practice, driving the urgent need for advanced artificial grafts that simultaneously promote vascularization and osteogenesis. Addressing the critical trade-off between achieving high porosity/strength and effective bioactivity at safe ion doses, we incorporated strontium (Sr) into β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) scaffolds with a triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structure using digital light processing (DLP)-based three-dimensional (3D) printing. Systematically screening Sr concentrations (0-10 mol%), we identified 10 mol% as optimal, leveraging the synergy between the biomimetic TPMS architecture, providing exceptional mechanical strength (up to 1.

Background: This study investigates structural abnormalities in hippocampal subfield volumes and shapes, and their association with plasma CC chemokines in individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD).
Methods: A total of 61 patients with MDD and 65 healthy controls (HC) were recruited. All participants underwent high-resolution T1-weighted imaging and provided blood samples for the detection of CC chemokines (CCL2, CCL7, and CCL11).

X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is a rare and progressive disease, due to inactivating mutations in the phosphate-regulating endopeptidase homolog X-linked (PHEX) gene. These pathogenic variants result in elevated circulating levels of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), responsible for the main clinical manifestations of XLH, such as hypophosphatemia, skeletal deformities, and mineralization defects. However, XLH also involves muscular disorders (muscle weakness, pain, reduced muscle density, peak strength, and power).
