Background: The potential association between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and colorectal cancer (CRC) risk, as well as colorectal adenomas (CRA) risk, has been extensively studied, but the findings remain inconclusive. We conducted this systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis to investigate the relationship between the DII and CRC and CRA.
Methods: We comprehensively searched the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases for cohort and case-control studies reporting the relationship between DII and CRA, or between DII and CRC, as of 15 July 2025.

Background: Volatile anesthetics are gaining recognition for their benefits in long-term sedation of mechanically ventilated patients with bacterial pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. In addition to their sedative role, they also exhibit anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, though the mechanisms behind these effects remain only partially understood. Dysfunction of parvalbumin-expressing interneurons (PV-INs) in the cerebral cortex has been implicated in major depressive disorder. Perineuronal nets (PNNs), which encapsulate PV-INs, are considered to influence the structural and functional properties of PV-INs. Semaphorin 3A (Sema3A) is a secreted protein constituent of PNNs, but the specific roles of Sema3A in modulating PV-INs during stress remain unknown.
