Objective: This study evaluates the effects of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibition on testicular microvascular function and vascular signaling pathways in a swine model of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM).
Methods: Eleven male Yorkshire swine were fed a high-fat diet to induce MetS. At 11 weeks, ICM was induced by placing an ameroid constrictor around the left circumflex artery.

Despite the known impacts of weaning on animal health, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear, particularly how psychological and nutritional stress differentially affect gut health and immune function over time. This study hypothesized that early weaning exerts distinct short- and long-term effects on lamb stress physiology, immunity, and gut health, mediated by specific molecular pathways. Twelve pairs of full-sibling male Hu sheep lambs were assigned to control (CON) or early-weaned (EW) groups.

In the complex development of various diseases, nitric oxide‑mediated S‑nitrosylation is increasingly recognized for its distinct regulatory function. Recent research has advanced our knowledge of how this nitric oxide‑dependent modification is dynamically controlled under both physiological and pathological conditions. S‑nitrosylation plays a key role in regulating mitochondrial function, gene transcription, cellular homeostasis and metabolism and it is also involved in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disorders, neurological conditions and cancer.

Cytosolic G6PDH contributes to soybean tolerance to heavy metal exposure by alleviating oxidative damage, and in this process, nitric oxide may act upstream of cytosolic G6PDH. Heavy metal (HM) pollution in soil significantly impairs agricultural production and represents a substantial risk to food security. However, the underlying mechanism by which glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH or G6PD, EC 1.

Women with endometriosis are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease and demonstrate endothelial dysfunction. The gold standard for diagnosis of endometriosis is through operative laparoscopy with surgical excision and histopathologic identification of endometrial-type glands and stroma. Symptoms of endometriosis are often immediately improved or resolved following excision surgery, but the cardiovascular impact of excision surgery is underappreciated.
