Also known as intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia, Masson's tumor is a relatively rare soft-tissue vascular tumor that usually arises in the hand. Felon is an abscess formation in the distal phalanx that usually occurs following a penetrating microtrauma. We present a 30-year-old patient who was referred to our clinic with a palpable mass in the distal phalanx of the index finger after a needle stick injury. At first, the lesion was treated as a felon but finally and after treatment failure, a complete reevaluation revealed the lesion to be a Masson's tumor of the distal phalanx.

Background: Standing fracture repair has become established as an acceptable technique with a good long-term prognosis. However, no study has compared racing outcomes with case-matched controls.
Objectives: To compare racing outcomes between a large dataset of horses undergoing standing fracture repair against case-matched controls.

Finger reconstruction in the aftermath of severe trauma poses significant challenges in restorative surgery, particularly when addressing extensive soft tissue damage, comminuted fractures, and simultaneous neurovascular complications. This study presents a case of a patient with a complicated proximal phalangeal fracture who pursued digit salvage. A 31-year-old Hispanic woman sustained severe injury to her right fifth digit during an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover resulting in an exposed, comminuted fracture of the proximal phalanx with extensive structural and neurovascular compromise.

Objective: Currently, no standardized sonography protocol for evaluating the distal flexor tendons in the hand exists. The aims of this research were to 1) establish an image acquisition protocol to standardize assessment and 2) describe typical variations in the morphology of flexor tendons in healthy individuals.
Materials And Methods: A sonography protocol was developed, refined, and deployed in a cohort of healthy volunteers to collect images and cine clips of flexor tendons beginning at the mid-palm through insertion at the distal phalanx.

Acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) is a rare type of cutaneous malignant melanoma, predominantly affecting the acral sites and subungual regions of the upper and lower extremities. Unlike other melanoma types, UV exposure is not considered as significant etiological factor. Instead, mechanical stress, particularly traumatic injury, is recognized as a potential contributor to ALM development, especially in weight-bearing areas such as the sole.
