Article Abstract

In this paper, large-scale, self-standing polypyrrole/graphene oxide (PPy/GO) nanocomposite films were prepared by an environmentally friendly and easy-to-operate confined polymerization method, and were also assembled as electrode materials for symmetric all-solid-state supercapacitors. The morphology, chemical structure and electrochemical property were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), respectively. The lamellar structure of GO and both strong interaction with ice and pyrrole could promote polymerization of pyrrole and improve the compactness of the film. With the aid of GO, the conjugation length of PPy increased, the resistance of the material decreased, and the electrochemical energy storage of the composite film was significantly enhanced. In the case of 2.5 wt% GO, the prepared PPy/GO nanocomposite supercapacitor exhibited a high area specific capacitance of 97.3 mF cm at 1 mA cm. Furthermore, the PPy/GO film supercapacitor also showed excellent cycling stability and good flexibility.

Artificial nanofluidic devices inspired bylight-driven ion transport in biological systems, leveraging the photoelectric effect, have attracted extensive attention for their potential in signal transduction and smart ion transport applications. However, effective separation of photogenerated carriers in traditional p-n junction interface can be hindered by energy band structure of different semiconductor materials. Here, we present a novel approach using conductive polypyrrole (PPy) to modify graphene oxide (GO), creating polypyrrole-graphene oxide (PyGO) functional lamellar conductive nanochannels with tailored channel-sized gradients and inherent optical-electrical coupling sensitivity via a facile super-assembly strategy.

The electrosynthesis of nitrate catalyzed by electrochemical nitrogen oxidation reaction (NOR) is considered as an alternative and sustainable approach to the conventional industrial manufacture, but optimizing the electrocatalytic NOR performance and fabricating the efficient NOR electrocatalysts at the design level still encounter great challenges. Herein, unique Pd- and S-doped TiO (Pb/S-TiO) nanoparticles are successfully in situ grown on the surface of 2-methylimidazolium-functionalized polypyrrole/graphene oxide (2-MeIm/PPy/GO), which present the typical hierarchical micro-nanostructures, resulting in the excellent electrocatalytic NOR performance with the highest NO yield of 72.69 µg h mg and the maximum Faraday efficiency of 8.

Direct formic acid fuel cells (DFAFCs) are one of the most promising power sources due to its high conversion efficiency; relatively low carbon emissions, toxicity, and flammability; convenience; and low-cost storage and transportation. However, the key challenge to large-scale commercial applications is its poor power performance and the catalyst's high preparation cost. In this study, a new sandwich-structured Pd/polypyrrole-graphene/Pd (Pd/PPy-Gns/Pd)-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was prepared using a simple constant potential (CP) electrodeposition technique.

Key Laboratory of Textile Science & Technology, Ministry of Education, College of Textiles, Donghua University, Shanghai 201620, China.

In this study, a strategy to fabricate nitrogen-doped porous core-sheath graphene fibers with the incorporation of polypyrrole-induced nitrogen doping and graphene oxide for porous architecture in sheath is reported. Polypyrrole/graphene oxide were introduced onto wet-spun graphene oxide fibers by dip-coating. Nitrogen-doped core-sheath graphene-based fibers (NSG@GFs) were obtained with subsequently thermally carbonized polypyrrole/small-sized graphene oxide and graphene oxide fiber slurry (PPY/SGO@GOF).

Design and fabrication of novel multifunctional nanomaterials as novel "theranostic nanoagents"with high efficiency and low side effects is important for cancer treatment. Herein, we synthesized manganese-oxide and palladium nanoparticle-co-decorated polypyrrole/graphene oxide (MnO@Pd@PPy/GO) nanocomposites, which could be used as a novel "theranostic nanoagent" for cancer treatment. Various spectroscopic and microscopic characterizations of the synthesized MnO@Pd@PPy/GO nanocomposites suggest that the nanocomposites are assembled sequentially by graphene oxide, polypyrrole, palladium nanoparticles and manganese-oxide nanoplates.
