Intracranial aneurysms (IAs) are common vascular pathologies with a risk of fatal rupture. Human assessment of rupture risk is error prone, and treatment decision for unruptured IAs often rely on expert opinion and institutional policy. Therefore, we aimed to develop a computer-assisted aneurysm rupture prediction framework to help guide the decision-making process and create future decision criteria.

Chestnut (Castanea mollissima Blume) is a nutritionally dense food, notably rich in starch, making it an important natural source of carbohydrates and energy for human diets. However, its high content of rapidly digestible starch (RDS) limits its use in low-glycemic-index (GI) food products. This study developed a synergistic bioprocess combining Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation and pullulanase-catalyzed debranching to enhance the nutritional and structural characteristics of chestnut powder.

The posterior tibial slope, used to define the angulation of the tibial plateau relative to the tibial shaft, is an important radiographic measurement that has gained significant interest recently. Increasing biomechanical and clinical literature has demonstrated the importance of evaluating posterior tibial slope due to its impact on knee kinematics. Although risk of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and graft rupture is multifactorial, studies have demonstrated that increased posterior tibial slope is likely a contributing factor.

Introduction: Threatened miscarriage (TM), defined as first-trimester vaginal bleeding with a closed cervix and detectable fetal cardiac activity, affects up to 30 % of clinically recognised pregnancies and is linked to increased risk of adverse outcomes. This study evaluates the predictive value of first-trimester ultrasound (US) and biochemical (BC) markers in determining outcomes among women with TM symptoms.
Methods: This prospective cohort study recruited 118 women with viable singleton pregnancies (5 to 12 weeks' gestation) from Malta's national public hospital between January 2023 and June 2024.

Metal-organic cage-based crystalline frameworks (MCFs) are distinguished for high porosity and diverse functionality, while their applications are constrained by degradation in wet environments. Inspired by the "fight fire with fire" method in traditional Chinese medicine, trace-water-induced synthesis of armors is proposed to stabilize MCFs. Water at ppm concentration is enriched on the hydrophilic surface of MCFs, and then polymerizes with diisocyanate under the catalysis of MCFs to form hydrophobic shells.
