Wolf isotopic response is the occurrence of new dermatoses on areas of the skin with previous but still active dermatoses. Vitiligo is an acquired disorder characterized by the loss of functional melanocytes which manifests as circumscribed depigmented macules and patches. Dermatophytoses are superficial fungal infections caused by three genera of fungi (, , and ) that have the unique ability to invade and multiply within keratinized tissue (skin, hair, and nail). The appearance of dermatophyte infection on previously present vitiligo lesion is an uncommon example of Wolf response. We describe a case series of five vitiligo patients that presented to our OPD over 1 year period.

Extensive keloid formation may develop at the site of healed herpes zoster lesions as a rare Wolf's isotopic response, even in immunocompetent individuals without a medical history of keloid, highlighting the importance of early antiviral therapy to minimize post-herpetic complications.

The return of large carnivores is predicted to suppress meso-carnivores, though it has only been observed in a minority of contemporary studies. Isle Royale is a remote island wilderness in Lake Superior, USA, managed for outdoor recreation. Following their natural extirpation, the National Parks Service translocated gray wolves (Canis lupus) in 2018-2019 and we expected the return of suppression and trophic facilitation of meso-carnivores.

This phenomenon involves the emergence of a new, unrelated skin disease in the area previously affected by HZ.
Objective: To describe 2 cases of autoimmune skin conditions, discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) and bullous pemphigoid (BP), emerging as isotopic responses following HZ infection, and to discuss possible pathophysiologic mechanisms.

Reconstructions of Eurasian Neanderthal diets based on stable nitrogen isotope ratios (δN) typically place hominins at the top of the food web, together with, or above, hypercarnivores, such as lions and wolves. We suggest that these high δN values may, in part, reflect the regular consumption of N-enriched fly larvae (maggots) occurring in stored animal foods. The ethnohistoric record contains countless examples of Indigenous peoples routinely consuming putrefied animal foods with maggots.

Purpose: To report a rare case of Wolf's post-herpetic isotopic response (PHIR) manifesting as herpetiform pemphigus (HP) after herpes zoster (HZ) infection and explore its potential pathogenesis.
Patients And Methods: A 76-year-old male patient with a history of HZ on the right lateral waist, abdomen, and back. Fifteen days after the cure of HZ, annular erythema, blisters, and pruritus appeared at the original site of the same skin lesions and then spread throughout the body.
