Hydrogen sulfide (HS), one of redox-active sulfur species, is known as a signaling molecule and an antioxidant in biological tissues to maintain cellular functions. The development of selective and sensitive HS detection is important to understand the role of HS in vivo. Herein, a new two-photon probe NNE was developed to detect hydrogen sulfide using 6-acetyl-N-methyl-2-naphthylamine with an attachment of 7-nitrobenzo-oxadiazole. The probe NNE exhibits high selectivity towards hydrogen sulfide over other anions. Nucleophilic substitution of HS leads to a turn-on response with 28-fold enhancement in quantum yield (from 0.004 to 0.117). NNE shows a high sensitivity towards hydrogen sulfide with an extremely low detection limit at 6.8 nM. Furthermore, the probe NNE exhibits two-photon excited fluorescence, making it a suitable probe for monitoring HS distribution in live cells and tissues without background fluorescence interference.

Wounds with extensive tissue damage are highly susceptible for microbial infections delaying the process of wound healing. Currently, biomaterials with therapeutic molecules emerged as key players in wound repairing. This work developed a novel collagen-based hydrogel loaded with allicin and silver nanoparticles.

Purpose: To evaluate the impact of MRP inhibition by MK571 on prostate hypercontractility in diet-induced obesity, based on the hypothesis that this intervention enhances intracellular cAMP and cGMP signaling.
Methods: Adult C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups: (i) lean, (ii) obese, and (iii) obese + MK571 (5 mg/kg/day, 14 days). The prostate was isolated for immunohistochemistry, biochemistry and functional assays.

We model Auger spectra using second-order Møller-Plesset perturbation (MP2) theory combined with complex-scaled basis functions. For this purpose, we decompose the complex MP2 energy of the core-hole state into contributions from specific decay channels and propose a corresponding equation-of-motion (EOM) method for computing the doubly ionized final states of Auger decay. These methods lead to significant savings in computational cost compared to our recently developed approaches based on coupled-cluster theory [F.

Cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE) produces hydrogen sulfide (HS), a vasodilator critical for vascular function. While its systemic effects are well-documented, its role in erectile physiology remains unclear. This study investigated the impact of CSE deletion on vascular and erectile tissue reactivity.

Background: The hydrogen sulfide (HS) in spoilage of raw meat poses significant food safety risks to human health. Meanwhile, as a signaling molecule, HS is crucial for maintaining human physiological homeostasis. Thus, the establishment of an efficient method for HS detection is essential for safeguarding human health.
