The () gene encodes a MADS-box transcription factor and plays an important role in the cold-induced transition from the vegetative to reproductive stage. Allelic variability of homoeologs has been associated with large differences in flowering time. The aim of this study was to investigate the genetic variability of homoeologs (-, - and -). We performed an in-depth sequence analysis of homoeologs in a panel of 105 winter and spring varieties of hexaploid wheat. We describe the novel allele - with an 836 bp insertion within intron 1 and show its specific expression pattern associated with reduced heading time. We further provide the complete sequence of the - allele, revealing a 177 bp insertion in intron 1, which is transcribed into an alternative splice variant. Copy number variation (CNV) analysis of homoeologs showed that - and - are present in only one copy. The copy number of recessive - ranged from one to four, while that of dominant - was one or two. Different numbers of - copies in the spring cultivars Branisovicka IX/49 and Bastion did not significantly affect heading time. We also report on the deletion of secondary structures (G-quadruplex) in promoter sequences of cultivars with more - copies.

The ferret model is widely used to study influenza A viruses (IAVs) isolated from multiple avian and mammalian species, as IAVs typically replicate in the respiratory tract of ferrets without the need for prior host adaptation. During standard IAV risk assessments, tissues are routinely collected from ferrets at a fixed time point post-inoculation to assess the capacity for systemic spread. Here, we describe a data set of virus titers in tissues collected from both respiratory tract and extrapulmonary sites 3 days post-inoculation from over 300 ferrets inoculated with more than 100 unique IAVs (inclusive of H1, H2, H3, H5, H7, and H9 IAV subtypes, both mammalian and zoonotic origin).

Objective: Diabetes mellitus combined with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a prevalent and intricate metabolic disorder that presents a significant global health challenge, imposing economic and emotional burdens on society and families. An in-depth understanding of the disease pathogenesis is crucial for enhancing diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy. Therefore, the study aims to identify and validate autophagy-related diagnostic biomarkers associated with T2DM-associated MAFLD, investigate regulatory mechanisms in disease progression, and explore cellular diversity within the same tissue using single-cell sequencing data.

Background And Objective: Aspiration of gastric contents is the major cause of respiratory tract-related complications, which can lead to death. Despite its significance, nationwide research on the practice of managing gastric regurgitation and pulmonary aspiration remains inadequate. We aimed to conduct a national survey to gain an in-depth understanding of the management and clinical practices surrounding perioperative gastric regurgitation and pulmonary aspiration among anesthesiologists in China.

The insect ionotropic γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor is an important insecticide target, and alternative splicing (AS) among exons 3a, 3b, 6a, and 6b of its RDL subunit is ubiquitous in insects; however, the AS factors and mechanisms remain unclear. While the neuro-oncological ventral antigen (Nova) is known to regulate AS of the γ2 subunit of mammalian GABA receptors, its role in insects remains unexplored. Two CsNova isoforms, CsNova-X1 and CsNova-X3, were identified by BLAST in the third-generation transcriptome of Chilo suppressalis.

Effectively learning from sequential data is a longstanding goal of Artificial Intelligence, especially in the case of long sequences. From the dawn of Machine Learning, several researchers have pursued algorithms and architectures capable of processing sequences of patterns, retaining information about past inputs while still leveraging future data, without losing precious long-term dependencies and correlations. While such an ultimate goal is inspired by the human hallmark of continuous real-time processing of sensory information, several solutions have simplified the learning paradigm by artificially limiting the processed context or dealing with sequences of limited length, given in advance.
