In inverse design, the design and background areas can be represented by different spatial resolutions; thus, adaptive meshes are more efficient than structured meshes. In this study, a second-order interpolation scheme is introduced to realize an inverse design process on an adaptive mesh. Experiment results show that the proposed scheme yields a 1.79-fold acceleration over that achieved using a structured mesh, aiding design time reduction or design area expansion. As the design area can be divided into multiple areas with different spatial resolutions, in future work, adaptive meshes can be combined with machine learning algorithms to further improve the inverse-design-process efficiency.

Methods: Using a two-sample MR design with data from FINNGEN (1048 DPN cases, 374,434 controls) and 63 mitochondrial proteins from GWAS datasets. Analyses used the Inverse Variance Weighted (IVW) method, MR-Egger regression, and weighted medians, with extensive sensitivity tests for robustness.

Background: In adults without cardiovascular disease (CVD), there is limited understanding of the association between overall cardiovascular health (CVH) and arterial health.
Methods: In 2330 Framingham Heart Study Offspring participants free of CVD (60±9 years; 57% women) with Life's Essential 8 (LE8) and applanation tonometry data (Exam 7), we calculated CVH scores per American Heart Association's LE8 guidelines. Multivariable-adjusted regression analyses examined the relations of LE8 with aortic stiffness and pressure pulsatility [negative inverse carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (niCFPWV), central pulse pressure (CPP), respectively], and examined effect modification by age and sex.
