Article Abstract

Fructose-1,6-biphosphate aldolase (FBA) is a multifunctional enzyme in plants, which participates in the process of Calvin-Benson cycle, glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. Despite the importance of genes in regulating plant growth, development and abiotic stress responses, little is known about their roles in cotton. In the present study, we performed a genome-wide identification and characterization of in . Totally seventeen genes were identified. According to the analysis of functional domain, phylogenetic relationship, and gene structure, genes were classified into two subgroups. Furthermore, nine were predicted to be in chloroplast and eight were located in cytoplasm. Moreover, the promoter prediction showed a variety of abiotic stresses and phytohormone related -acting elements exist in the 2k up-stream region of . And the evolutionary characteristics of cotton genes were clearly presented by synteny analysis. Moreover, the results of transcriptome and qRT-PCR analysis showed that the expression of were related to the tissue distribution, and further analysis suggested that could respond to various abiotic stress and phytohormonal treatments. Overall, our systematic analysis of genes would not only provide a basis for the understanding of the evolution of , but also found a foundation for the further function analysis of to improve cotton yield and environmental adaptability.

Although, in principle, the Lancet article Commission on Medicine, Nazism, and the Holocaust, aims to provide medical students with a moral compass to guide the future of medical practice as a social retaining wall against anti-Semitism, it deals with the Holocaust not from a philosophical point of view, but from a pedagogical one, resorting to didactic strategies from a historiographical approach. What seemed to be a plea against the behaviour of the Nazi doctors' experiments becomes a justification of the positive law of the liberal democracies in use. However, what it ignores is of the utmost importance: that the majority of the regime's doctors were tried and sentenced for their iniquitous actions, and yet, in contemporary Western society, an even greater danger is very much present: techno-science, which, as it stands, can once again compromise the identity, dignity and very life of the human person.

The cytosolic iron-sulfur cluster assembly (CIA) targeting complex maturates over 30 cytosolic and nuclear Fe-S proteins, raising the question of how a single complex recognizes such a diverse set of clients. The discovery of a C-terminal targeting complex recognition (TCR) peptide in up to 25% of CIA clients provided a clue to substrate specificity, yet the molecular and energetic basis for this interaction remained unresolved. By integrating computational and biochemical approaches, we show that the TCR peptide binds a conserved interface between the Cia1 and Cia2 subunits of the targeting complex, even in the absence of the Fe-S cluster.

Excitatory glycine receptors (eGlyRs), composed of the glycine-binding NMDA receptor subunits GluN1 and GluN3A, have recently emerged as a novel neuronal signaling modality that challenges the traditional view of glycine as an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Unlike conventional GluN1/GluN2 NMDARs, the distribution and role of eGlyRs remain poorly understood. Here, we show that eGlyRs are highly enriched in the ventral hippocampus (VH) and confer distinct properties on this brain region.
