Introduction: Stroke, predominantly ischemic, is a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide. Despite advances in intervention strategies, effective treatments to mitigate neurological injury post-ischemic stroke remain limited. Hydrogen sulfide (HS), a gas signaling molecule, has been implicated in neuroprotection, but its role in stroke is controversial.

Autophagy is a vital cellular process that degrades and recycles intracellular components via lysosomes, playing a key role in maintaining cellular homeostasis. Alteration of this mechanism has been implicated in the occurrence and progression of numerous diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular conditions, and microbial and viral infections. Recent studies have identified several mutations affecting autophagy-related genes and elucidated how defective degradation of specific substrates contributes to disease mechanisms.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a typical reproductive endocrine system disease with high incidence rate among childbearing age women. Several clinical data show that glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) might have therapeutic effects on PCOS, but the mechanisms are still unclear. Here, we aim to assess the effects of semaglutide (a weekly preparation of GLP-1RAs) on PCOS in vivo.

Mania-like episodes are neuropsychiatric disturbances associated with bipolar disorder (BD). Autophagic flux disturbance evolved as one of the molecular mechanisms implicated in mania. Recently, Dapagliflozin (DAPA) has corrected autophagic signaling in several neurological disorders.
