Article Abstract

UV-cured cross-linked polymer electrolytes are promising electrolytes for safe Li-ion batteries (LIBs) application due to their excellent conduction ability, low glass-transition temperature (), and high discharge capacity. Herein, we have prepared novel fluorosulfonylimide methacrylic-based cross-linked polymer electrolyte membranes for LIBs via UV-curing process, which is a well-known, easy, low-cost, fast, and reliable technique. The synthesized UV-reactive novel methacrylate monomer with directly attached fluorosulfonylimide functional group methacryloylcarbamoyl sulfamoyl fluoride (MACSF) was used as a precursor for UV curing along with poly(ethylene glycol) dimethacrylate (PEGDMA) and lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (LiFSI). The results demonstrated that the cross-linked membrane with an optimized amount (30 wt %) of MACSF monomer (noted as CPE-3) showed the best performance. The nonflammable fluorosulfonyl group (a hydrophilic group of MACSF monomer) in the polymer matrix formed a wide channel, as a result of which Li ion can migrate easily via forming an ionic linkage. The CPE-3 electrolyte exhibited a low (-79 °C), excellent phase separation, high conductivity (σ) (ca. 3.5 × 10 and 8.50 × 10 S·cm at 30 and 80 °C, respectively), and high flame retardancy. The battery performance of half-cell (LiFePO/CPE-3/Li) and full cell (LiFePO/CPE-3/graphite) with CPE-3 electrolyte were attractive: discharge capacities (155 and 152 mAh/g) with the capacity retentions of 96.17 and 95.17% after 500 cycles at 0.1 C rate for half-cell and full-cell LIBs, respectively.

Introduction: Modern wearable electronics demand materials that are simultaneously stretchable, conductive, and environmentally robust. Hydrogels meet some of these requirements but dehydrate or freeze easily. To overcome these limitations, we prepared a poly-ionic-liquid (PIL) ionogel that integrates high elasticity with stable ionic conductivity, aiming to enable reliable, skin-compatible strain and biopotential sensing.

Transparent, hard, and flexible multifunctional coatings have a wide range of applications; however, most of them need organic solvents. Here, we present a solvent-free and UV-cured coating made from fluorinated epoxy MTQ silicone resin combined with branched triepoxy siloxane as the reactive diluent. After UV-initiated ring-opening polymerization in the presence of a triarylsulfonium hexafluoroantimonate catalyst, the resultant cured coating exhibits high transparency (∼92%, 550 nm), pencil hardness (7H), and flexibility (1 mm bending diameter) due to the formed organic-inorganic nanostructures in a highly cross-linked network.

In this paper, urethane-based acrylates (UA) were prepared via an environmentally friendly non-isocyanate route. Isophorone diamine (IPDA) reacted with ethylene carbonate (EC), producing carbamate containing amine and hydroxyl groups, which further reacted with neopentyl glycol diacrylate (NPGDA) by aza Michael addition, forming UA. The structures of the obtained intermediates and UA were characterized by H NMR and electrospray ionization high-resolution mass spectrometry (ESI-HRMS).

Photocuring kinetics in photopolymerization-based three-dimensional (3D) printing processes have gained significant attention because they determine the final dimension accuracy of the printed structures. In this study, the curing kinetics of liquid-light-curable resins, including water-dispersed graphene oxide (GO) and ultraviolet (UV)-cured acrylic resins, were investigated during digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing. Various stable composites of water-dispersed GO and UV-cured acrylic resin were prepared to fabricate 3D structures for cure-depth measurements.
