Ovarian cancer, particularly high-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC), remains a leading cause of mortality in gynecologic oncology. Emerging research identifies serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC) as a precursor lesion in many HGSC cases, highlighting its role in ovarian cancer pathogenesis and prevention. Management of STIC is challenging, as there is only limited data available to guide clinical decision-making.

The evaluation and management of renal masses, predominantly of the clear cell renal cell carcinoma subtype, have been evolving over the past several years and demanding greater attention from nephrologists. Oncologic survival of localized tumors approaches 100%, where survival is more closely tied to underlying comorbidities including chronic kidney disease (CKD). Early diagnosis and thus increasing prevalence related to incidental discovery of renal masses allows greater emphasis on nephron-sparing procedures and for residual kidney function preservation.

Bluetongue virus (BTV) and epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV) are two viruses belonging to the genus that are transmitted via insect vector, the biting midge, causing disease in domestic and wild ruminants. These infections can lead to significant morbidity, mortality, and production losses in livestock, with economic consequences for cattle and sheep industries. Despite their growing impact due to environmental and anthropogenic changes, little is known of the prevalence of these viruses in North American bison ().
