Purpose: Contribution of the gastrocnemii muscles to ankle moment is influenced by the knee joint position because they span the knee and the ankle joint as well. However, limited information is available on the effect of knee joint position on soleus activation under dynamic plantarflexion, hence the aim of this study was to investigate if soleus have a compensatory strategy in fascicle behavior or EMG activity during knee flexed plantarflexion in order to reduce the magnitude of the decrement in ankle moment.
Equipment And Methods: Isokinetic dynamometry with EMG and ultrasound measurements was used to estimate medial gastrocnemius and soleus behavior during knee flexed and extended plantarflexions using three angular velocities.

Background: Single-leg stance requires pelvic stability, largely supported by the hip abductors. Differences in hip abductor activation between sexes and individuals with or without musculoskeletal conditions may relate to abductor weakness. However, the relationship between hip abduction strength and muscle activation during stance, and whether this is moderated by sex, remains unclear.

The inhibition of dependent glutamine metabolism is an effective treatment for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) starvation, but it is limited by compensatory glycolysis and inadequate delivery efficiency. Herein, we construct a pH-responsive size/charge-reprogrammed micelle with hierarchical delivery characteristics for TNBC suppression with glutamine depletion and vessel blockade. It consists of a positively charged prodrug micelle chemically grafted with the glutamine transport inhibitor V9302 as the inner core layer, the neovascular disruptor CA4P adsorbed in the middle layer, and a pH-responsive peelable polymer as the outer shell.

Locally advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) presents significant therapeutic challenges, particularly in resource-limited settings with restricted access to new therapies. This report describes a new exploratory multimodal therapeutic approach for a patient with locally advanced clear cell RCC (ccRCC) with adrenal and lymph node metastases. A 45-year-old woman presented with an incidentally discovered 9-cm mass in the left kidney, which was later diagnosed as grade-2 ccRCC with adrenal and lymph node involvement.

Background: Urinary incontinence (UI) is a prevalent postpartum condition associated with low physical activity which protects against many adverse postpartum health conditions. However, little is known about how postpartum women experience UI and physical activity.
