Introduction And Importance: Chest wall tumors are common and predominantly benign. Exceptionally, long-standing evolution over decades can lead to the development of giant tumors, posing substantial technical and strategic challenges in determining the optimal surgical approach.

Presentation Of Case: We report a rare case of a giant pedunculated chest wall lipoma that had been growing for over 40 years in a 73-year-old man.

When can calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease be considered a polymyalgia rheumatica mimicking disease?

Reumatologia

June 2025

Rheumatology Unit, Department of Medical Sciences, Surgery and Neurosciences, Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Senese, Università degli studi di Siena, Italy.

Introduction: Similarly to polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) disease is common among older people. Calcium pyrophosphate deposition can present in several forms, including proximal manifestations associated with raised inflammatory markers. Consequently, CPPD disease may be diagnosed as PMR.

A high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly and annotation of the giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii).

Sci Data

July 2025

Key Laboratory of Tropical & Subtropical Fishery Resource Application & Cultivation of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Guangzhou, 510380, China.

The giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, is native to Southeast Asia and is used in aquacultural practices worldwide. It is considered advantageous because of its rapid growth, high nutritional value, and economic benefits. As one of the three major freshwater aquaculture shrimp sources in China, a high-quality genome resource is of great significance for promoting the germplasm improvement of varieties.

Collapse of the standard ferromagnetic domain structure in hybrid Co/Molecule bilayers.

Nat Commun

July 2025

Istituto per lo Studio dei Materiali Nanostrutturati - CNR (ISMN-CNR), Via Piero Gobetti 101, Bologna, Italy.

The interplay between Hund's coupling, exchange interaction and magnetic anisotropy is responsible for a multitude of magnetic phases, ranging from conventional ferromagnetism to exotic spin textures. Yet, engineering and fine-tuning a magnetic state remains a major challenge in modern magnetism. We show that the chemisorption of organic molecules over Co thin films offers a tool to transform the films from ferromagnetic to a glassy-type state.
