Styrofoam is a thermoplastic with special characteristics; it is an efficient insulator, is extremely lightweight, absorbs trauma, is bacteria resistant, and is an ideal packaging material, compared to other thermoplastics. The aim of this study was to analyze the interaction between Styrofoam and . The study examined the growth of under Styrofoam stress, changes in Styrofoam functional groups, and their interactions. The research method was culture carried out in brackish water (12 mg/L salinity) for 30 days. yields were tested by FTIR and SEM-EDX and Styrofoam samples by FTIR. The results showed the highest growth rate of in cultures treated with 150 mg Styrofoam that is 0.0401 day. FTIR analysis shows that there has been a change in the functional group on Styrofoam. At a wavelength of 3400-3200 cm corresponds to the alcohol group and there was an open cyclic chain shown by the appearance of a wavelength at 1680-1600 cm assignment to alkene. SEM-EDX test results show that Styrofoam can be a resource of nutrition, especially carbon for to photosynthesize. Increased carbon content of 24.56% occurred in culture, meanwhile, Styrofoam is able to damage cells.

High-throughput experimental screening is desirable to minimize data acquisition time from vast workloads. Cell cryopreservation experiments are routinely performed in single-sample cryovials despite cell seeding being performed in 96-well microplates because these substrates are known to induce microliter supercooling, are prone to thermal compressibility and their lengthy preparation period extends cell exposure time to potentially cytotoxic cryoprotectants. Rather than improving the methodological preciseness of cooling, latest efforts have focused on refining cryoprotectant formulations and supplement precautionary ice nucleators.

Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have a greater prevalence of deficits in social interactions and repetitive behaviours, which are influenced by hereditary and environmental factors. How environmental factors influence genetically predisposed individuals remains unknown. Here, we provide new evidence of the interplay between social behaviour and environmental influences, by manipulating perceived safety and threat levels in ube3a mutant zebrafish, a mutation that is linked to Angelman syndrome and ASD.

Despite the availability of multiple cryopreservation methods, variations in the selection of developmental stage, cryoprotectant composition, and storage conditions may sometimes cause inconsistencies and uncertainty among researchers. In this study, we followed a step-by-step approach to optimize the cryopreservation process.

Background: Styrofoam is a patient-specific immobilization device in radiotherapy; most previous studies about the impact of styrofoam on setup errors have only analyzed a single tumor type, and have not considered the influence of patient's physical condition on the setup errors of styrofoam.
Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the impact of styrofoam device on setup errors in radiotherapy and explore which patient population is more suitable for styrofoam immobilization.
Methods: Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to compare the setup errors between the experimental group (styrofoam combined with thermoplastic mask) and the control group (thermoplastic mask alone).
