Article Abstract

We present the cases of two laryngectomised patients who were treated for granulomas of the tracheostomy orifice with a silver nitrate pencil. During tracheostomy care, the tip broke off, was aspirated and fell into the bronchial tree. Necrotising ulcerative injuries of the right bronchial tree with clear delineation were found without lesions in the subsegmental division. To prevent the risk of secondary stenosis of the small airways induced by the spread of silver nitrate, we did not irrigate with saline solution as previously reported. Antibiotherapy and endoscopic monitoring were performed. Complete healing in 4-6 weeks was found without stenosis of the bronchial tree or bleeding.

Objective: Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) is a common complication of prolonged glucocorticoid therapy. Chlorogenic acid (CGA), a polyphenol with antioxidant properties that is extracted from traditional Chinese medicines such as Eucommiae Cortex, has potential anti-osteoporotic activity. This study aimed to investigate the possible effects of CGA on GIOP in mice and murine long bone osteocyte Y4 (MLO-Y4) cells and explore the underlying molecular mechanisms.

This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro efficacy of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized by bioreduction using lemongrass () essential oil against multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria isolated from an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The essential oil was extracted and characterized by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Antioxidant activity was assessed using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay, the 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) assay, and total phenolic content.

Myco-synthesis of silver nanoparticles is gaining attention because their unique applications have attracted many researchers. Silver nanoparticles have been used explicitly to target pathogenic microorganisms and specific tissues. The present study focuses on biosynthesized AgNPs from the endophytic fungus of Clonostachys byssicola isolate PSEF1 isolated from Gloriosa superba L.

The rapid advancement of nanotechnology has paved the way for innovative strategies in sustainable agriculture, particularly through the development and use of metallic nanoparticles. Among these, silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have garnered significant attention due to their distinct physicochemical characteristics. The current research illustrates the environmentally friendly production of Ag NPs by aqueous extracts of two cyanobacterial strains Westiellopsis ramosa and Nostoc commune.

Liquid Resistive Switching Devices with Printable Electrodes.

Micromachines (Basel)

Institute of Advanced Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, 1 Mac Dinh Chi, Ho Chi Minh City 70072, Vietnam.

In this work, research on liquid-based resistive switching devices is carried out, using bottom printable electrodes fabricated from Silver (Ag) paste and silver nitrate (AgNO) solution. The self-crossing I-V curves are observed and repeatedly shown by applying 100 sweep cycles, demonstrating repeatability and stability. This liquid device can be refreshed by adding extra droplets of AgNO so that self-crossing I-V hysteresis with up to 493 dual sweeps can be obtained.
