Introduction: Radiation is an important tool in the diagnostic and curative treatment of many cancers. Ionizing radiation induces many biochemical changes in the cells. The present study was designed to estimate the level of neurotransmitters in the distinct brain tissue of Swiss albino mice before exposing gamma radiation.
Materials And Methods: The mice were treated with 0.25 and 1 g/kg body weight of extract (CDE) via oral gavage for 7 days and subjected to 5 Gy of gamma radiation. The estimation of monoamines was performed in the cortex and cerebellum separately.
Results: Mice exposed to a sublethal dose 5 Gy of gamma radiation causes a significant decrease in dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, and serotonin levels compared to normal. The mice treated with 0.25 and 1 g/kg body weight of CDE via oral gavage for 7 days showed significant improvement in the level of monoamine neurotransmitters in both the cortex and cerebellum homogenate.
Conclusion: Oral administration of antioxidant-rich has shown a neuromodulatory effect against radiation-induced depletion of neurotransmitters in the brain tissues.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common, complex, and untreatable form of dementia which is characterized by severe cognitive, motor, neuropsychiatric, and behavioural impairments. These symptoms severely reduce the quality of life for patients and impose a significant burden on caregivers. The existing therapies offer only symptomatic relief without addressing the underlying silent pathological progression.

Ketamine has been widely used as a recreational substance by adolescents and young adults in nightclubs and raves in an acute manner, especially during the weekend. Considering the scarcity of evidence on the harmful consequences of adolescent ketamine recreational use on the central nervous system, primarily related to motor function, this study aimed to investigate the behavioral, biochemical, and neurochemical consequences on motor function induced by ketamine use, evaluating the motor cortex, cerebellum, and striatum in early abstinence. Patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) may experience neurobehavioral and cognitive concerns, including psychiatric symptoms, due to the absence of full-length dystrophin (Dp427), frequently accompanied by deficiencies in shorter isoforms. The lack of dystrophin affects neurophysiological processes from the uterine phase, impacting neural circuitry in brain regions such as the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and cerebellum.
