This study evaluates the eco-efficiency of agriculture in Pupiao Town, in the Yunnan province of China, through micro-level research. The term "eco-efficiency" refers to the efficiency with which ecological resources are used to meet human needs. Interviews and field research were conducted to collect the data of the 23 villages from 2016 to 2018. The Data Envelopment Analysis model (DEA) was used for data analysis. The results were as follows: (1) The eco-efficiency scores of Pupiao Town had considerable spatial heterogeneity, exhibiting a general trend of higher in the middle and lower in the east and west, which suggested eco-efficiency may be correlated with topography and transportation. (2) The value of eco-efficiency for the entire town had considerable areas for improvement and showed a slow-growth trend. (3) Fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural diesel, agricultural carbon emission, and non-point source pollution had a significant impact on eco-efficiency, followed by agricultural labor and arable land. (4) Agricultural chemicals were primary determinants affecting eco-efficiency. Most of the factors had a stronger effect on the eastern and western regions. The study suggests that transportation should be improved to promote the conveyance of market information and the application of more efficient and productive farm methods. The most important way is to improve effective utilization and to reduce the amount of agricultural chemicals. In addition, it is necessary to offer technical training and help to support farmers in upgrading their farm operations.

Integrated crop-livestock systems combine feed production with animal production as separate, but interconnected operations. This study presents the first Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a large scale, integrated, organic egg production system in Brazil and the first worldwide assessment of a large-scale integrated crop-poultry system. This research provides insights into eco-efficiency, offering guidance for sustainable practices in Brazil and beyond.

The term 'emission-adjusted efficiency' (EAE) typically refers to technical efficiency, defined as the set of desirable and undesirable outputs relating to classical production factors such as land, labour and capital. However, standard approaches to estimating the drivers of EAE fail to capture the nonlinear nature of these relationships or their interactions with different qualitative factors. This study aims, firstly, to identify the determinants of EAE oriented towards minimising greenhouse gases emissions in the field crop system within the socio-economic-natural nexus, secondly, to discover the non-linear relations with EAE and the effects of qualitative variables and policies.

The agricultural low-carbon transition is essential to achieving China's dual carbon goals. Utilizing provincial panel data (2001-2021), this study analyzes the influence of climate attention on agricultural low-carbon transition and investigates underlying mechanisms. Additionally, leveraging the establishment of the carbon trading market-a key indicator of societal climate attention-as a quasi-natural experiment, this study applies DID and PSM-DID models to assess its role in promoting the agricultural low-carbon transition.

Hence, the development of a high-efficiency analytical method for hindered phenolic antioxidants is of great importance for food safety. Eco-efficiency in cultivated land use is crucial for ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agriculture amidst the challenges posed by urbanization and climate change. Distinct from much of the existing literature, this paper adopts a super-efficiency EBM model that integrates both radial and non-radial perspectives to estimate the eco-efficiency of cultivated land use and identify sources of inefficiency under carbon emission constraints, focusing on 180 prefecture-level cities in China's major grain-producing regions. Additionally, spatial kernel density estimation is applied to analyze the spatiotemporal dynamics and long-term trends in eco-efficiency, while the Dagum Gini coefficient is used to examine the causes of spatiotemporal disparities.
