Impulsivity describes the tendency to act prematurely without appropriate foresight and is symptomatic of a number of neuropsychiatric disorders. Although a number of genes for impulsivity have been identified, no study to date has carried out an unbiased, genome-wide approach to identify genetic markers associated with impulsivity in experimental animals. Herein we report a linkage study of a six-generational pedigree of adult rats phenotyped for one dimension of impulsivity, namely premature responding on the five-choice serial reaction time task, combined with genome wide sequencing and transcriptome analysis to identify candidate genes associated with the expression of the impulsivity trait. Premature responding was found to be heritable (h = 13-16%), with significant linkage (LOD 5.2) identified on chromosome 1. Fine mapping of this locus identified a number of polymorphic candidate genes, however only one, beta haemoglobin, was differentially expressed in both the founder strain and F6 generation. These findings provide novel insights into the genetic substrates and putative neurobiological mechanisms of impulsivity with broader translational relevance for impulsivity-related disorders in humans.

The long-term mortality consequences for aging veterans remain insufficiently characterized. This study examines the association between military service and mortality outcomes among US adults aged 50 years and older, including all-cause mortality, premature death, and cause-specific mortality.

Objectives: To assess patterns across 21 countries in dentists' thresholds for initiating operative treatment of active non-cavitated carious lesions and to evaluate the influence of caries risk, clinician characteristics, and geographic variation on decision-making in accordance with current guidelines.
Methods: A cross-sectional, vignette-style web-based survey was conducted between June and October 2023 across 21 countries. A standardized questionnaire, comprising theoretical radiographic scenarios of occlusal and approximal active non-cavitated carious lesions at four progressive stages (E1,E2,EDJ,D1), was distributed to general dentists and specialists.

Objectives: to develop and validate the content of a mobile technology as a tool for the care of preterm newborns at home.
Methods: a methodological study of a descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative nature, involving the development of an application, which was designed and validated through three stages: a literature review and analysis of interviews with mothers; application development; and content validation by panel of experts.
Results: through an integrative literature review and analysis of interviews with 10 mothers, the topics incorporated into the technology were identified and subsequently validated by 14 experts, achieving a content validity index and coefficient above 0.

Objective: The aim of this retrospective cohort study was to evaluate the relationship between leading follicle size at the time of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) trigger and live birth rates in Patient-Oriented Strategies Encompassing Individualised Oocyte Number (POSEIDON) groups 3 and 4 undergoing assisted reproductive technology cycles using a gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist protocol. The objective was to identify the optimal leading follicle size for maximizing live birth outcomes in this challenging patient population.
Material And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included POSEIDON groups 3 and 4 poor responders aged 20-42 years undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection with GnRH antagonist protocol between January 2015 and July 2021.
