New antibacterial treatments against are needed as is acquiring antibiotic resistance. β-caryophyllene is a natural bicyclic sesquiterpene, with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects. This study investigates the effects of H-002119-00-001 from β-caryophyllene on the eradication of in a mouse model, and its effects on the inflammation of the gastric mucosa. To evaluate the anti- efficacy of β-caryophyllene, a total of 160 mice were divided into eight groups ( = 10 each) and were administered different treatments for 2 and 4 weeks. eradication was assessed using a Campylobacter-like organism (CLO) test and qPCR of the gastric mucosa. The levels of inflammation of gastric mucosa were assessed using histology and immunostaining. H-002119-00-001 decreased bacterial burden in vitro. When H-002119-00-001 was administered to mice once daily for 2 weeks, cure rates shown by the CLO test were 40.0%, 60.0%, and 70.0% in groups 6, 7, and 8, respectively. levels in gastric mucosa decreased dose-dependently after H-002119-00-001 treatment. H-002119-00-001 also reduced levels of inflammation in gastric mucosa. H-002119-00-001 improved inflammation and decreased bacterial burden in -infected mouse models. H-002119-00-001 is a promising and effective therapeutic agent for the treatment of infection.

Enterochromaffin (EC) cell dysfunction decreases 5‑hydroxytryptamine (5‑HT) secretion, contributing to functional constipation (FC). However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Piezo ion channels mediate 5‑HT release from EC cells.

Purpose: The objectives were to describe and to compare the clinical features of patients with MD in terms of demographic data, clinical presentation, investigations, treatment, histopathology, and postoperative complications between children and adults.
Methods: Patients with MD were retrospectively reviewed from two tertiary hospitals (2002-2021). These included patients with symptomatic MD and patients whose MD was incidentally found during operations.

Background: Map-like redness (MLR) is a high-risk membrane factor for early gastric cancer (EGC) after the successful eradication of Helicobacter pylori (Hp). This study aimed to analyze the clinical, endoscopic, and pathological characteristics of EGC with surrounding MLR after successful Hp eradication and evaluate the effect of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) resection.
Methods: This retrospective study comprised 23 patients with EGC and surrounding MLR after Hp eradication (MLR group) and 135 patients with EGC without a surrounding MLR (non-MLR; NMLR group).

Objective Reflux esophagitis (RE) is caused by gastroesophageal acid reflux, whereas the heterotopic gastric mucosa (HGM) of the cervical esophagus often shows acid secretion. This study investigated whether an intra-esophageal acidic condition in patients with RE or HGM prevents the occurrence of esophageal candidiasis. Materials We enrolled 5,221 adults (males/females: 3,260/1,961, mean age 54.
