The Asian citrus psyllid () is an economically important pest of citrus as it is a vector of the bacterium ( Liberibacter asiaticus, Las) that causes huanglongbing disease (HLB). Understanding the virome of is important for uncovering factors that influence vector competence, to support biosecurity surveillance, and to identify candidate agents for biological control. Previous studies have identified several -associated viruses from various geographical populations of this pest.

Pelargonium graveolens, valued for its essential oil, is significantly influenced by its endosymbiotic associations impacting its physiology and phytochemistry, though the exact mechanisms driving this modulation remain largely unexplored. This study unveils that inoculating Pseudomonas oryzihabitans CB24 into P. graveolens significantly alters plant's lipid dynamics, leading to increased accumulation of chloroplast glycerolipids like monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG) and sulfolipids, sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerol (SQDG).

The outer membranes of Gram-negative bacteria and endosymbiotic organelles mitochondria and chloroplasts contain β-barrel proteins essential for transporting metabolites, ions and proteins, as well as regulatory functions. While the assembly mechanisms of these proteins are well-studied in bacteria and mitochondria, they remain poorly understood in chloroplasts due to challenges in producing sufficient quantities of relevant plant proteins for structural and biochemical analyses. Here, we show that Oep80, the presumed core component of the chloroplastic β-barrel assembly machinery, can be overexpressed in bacteria and refolded in large quantities.

The Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri) is the primary vector for Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), which is the causative agent of Huanglongbing (HLB). In recent years, increasing attention has been given to the endosymbiotic viruses harbored within D. citri, particularly Diaphorina citri picorna-like virus (DcPLV).

Endosymbiotic dinoflagellates are promising sources of biomolecules with high biotechnological potential. However, knowledge on their cultivation strategies and physiological responses to nutrient modulation remains limited. This study evaluated the effects of different nitrogen concentrations-resulting in nitrogen-to-phosphorus (N: P) ratios of 0:1, 7:1, 14:1, and 28:1-on the growth performance and biochemical composition of D.
