The uranium enrichment of the environmental sample should be analyzed to verify the declared information for the nuclear safeguards. The High-Resolution Gamma Spectrometry (HRGS) and Monochromatic Micro X-ray Fluorescence (MMXRF) is able to analyze the sample with a short detection time and high reproducibility. These are the advantage to measure the samples for screening before laboratory analysis. This study concentrated on uranium enrichment evaluation with the gamma-ray emission counts of U isotope (@185.7 keV) detected with the HRGS and counts of total uranium elements detected by MMXRF. As a result, the measured data were calculated for the uranium enrichment in three different ways: (i) Activity of U with the HRGS and mass of total uranium with the MMXRF, (ii) counts U with the HRGS and counts of total uranium, and (iii) activity of U and U with the HRGS. Based on the comparison with the mass spectrometry, method (iii) is able to derive the uranium enrichment the most accurately. However, method (ii) provides enough information for the screening to sort the sample for which laboratory analysis is necessary, when the sample's equilibrium status is not guaranteed.

Background: Chronic exposure to uranium (U) rich environments poses significant health risks, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects remain poorly understood. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane-bound vesicles that transfer multiple biomolecules between cells and can regulate cellular function.
Objective: To determine whether U-mining tenure is associated with specific alterations in serum-derived EV proteomic and plasma cytokine profiles among former U-miners, and to assess the potential of EV-derived proteins as robust biomarkers of chronic U-exposure relative to canonical cytokines.

The Manglai uranium deposit is located in the Tabei Sag within the Manit Depression, centrally positioned in the eastern Erlian Basin at the core of an ancient valley uranium metallogenic belt. This study analyzed the geochemical properties of 22 clastic and mudstone samples from the Lower Cretaceous Saihan Formation in the Manglai deposit to assess its tectonic setting, provenance direction, redox conditions, and paleoclimatic environment. Key findings reveal that (1) The primary sediment source of the Saihan Formation in the Manglai deposit consists of felsic igneous rocks, situated mainly in a passive continental margin setting.

The superior efficacy of synroc as an immobilization matrix for actinides in spent nuclear fuel has been extensively validated, positioning it as a leading candidate for long-term nuclear waste management. In this context, isotopic investigations of natural analogues are indispensable for optimizing synroc formulations, particularly regarding their capacity to incorporate and retain actinides and their decay products over geological timescales. The development of efficient, sensitive and rapid uranyl ion (UO) detection technology plays a critical role in promoting the utilization of uranium resources and protecting the environment. In this study, a novel composite of BP-mPEG-Olig was synthesized by immobilizing oligonucleotides (Oligs) on black phosphorene (BP), using maleimide-polyethylene glycol (mPEG) as both the linker and passivator. BP-mPEG-Olig utilizes the excellent electrical conductivity and high specific surface area of BP and the high affinity and molecular recognition capability of Oligs for electrochemical UO sensing.
