Background: One of the most intriguing and unusual features of trypanosomatids is their mitochondrial DNA, known as kinetoplast DNA (kDNA), which is organized into a network of concatenated circles. The kDNA is contained within the mitochondrial matrix and can exhibit distinct arrangements across different species and during cell differentiation. In addition to kDNA, the kinetoplast contains multiple proteins, including those involved in mitochondrial DNA topology and metabolism, such as the kinetoplast-associated proteins (KAPs).

Background: Titanium, a rare allergen tested within a designated metal series, has a unique exposure profile, warranting evaluation in specific clinical scenarios. Our study aims to characterise the clinical features of patients with Titanium sensitisation.
Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis was conducted on 255 patients patch tested with the metal series at a tertiary contact dermatitis clinic between 2012 and 2024.

All marine saponins isolated from feature a unique and distinctive enone system located in the D ring and an unusual -C/D ring junction, presenting an intriguing yet unattained synthetic challenge. The first total synthesis of pandaroside D () and its methyl ester () was achieved from commercially available dehydroisoandrosterone acetate (DHEA). A notable feature of this synthesis is direct oxidation of the C-15 position promoted by the Davis reagent.
