Lilikoi (the Hawaiian word for passion fruit) is a new and comprehensive R package for personalized pathway-based classification modeling using metabolomics data. Four basic modules are presented as the backbone of the package: feature mapping module, which standardizes the metabolite names provided by users and maps them to pathways; dimension transformation module, which transforms the metabolomic profiles to personalized pathway-based profiles using pathway deregulation scores; feature selection module, which helps to select the significant pathway features related to the disease phenotypes; and classification and prediction module, which offers various machine learning classification algorithms. The package is freely available under the GPLv3 license through the github repository at: https://github.com/lanagarmire/lilikoi and CRAN: https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/lilikoi/index.html.

Cancer is a complex and heterogeneous disease characterized by the accumulation of genetic and epigenetic alterations that drive uncontrolled cellular proliferation and survival. This review provides a comprehensive overview of key cancer driver genes, including oncogenes such as KRAS and PIK3CA, as well as tumor suppressor genes like TP53, PTEN, and CDKN2A, highlighting their molecular mechanisms and roles across various types of cancer. Leveraging insights from large-scale cancer genome initiatives and whole-genome sequencing, we examine the landscape of somatic mutations and their association with hallmark cancer pathways, including cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, metabolic reprogramming, and immune evasion.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Cisplatin is widely used in chemotherapy, but hepatotoxicity limits its effectiveness. Liquiritin has liver-protective effects, but its mechanisms have not been elucidated in combination with cisplatin for liver-injury treatment in mice.
Aim Of The Study: This investigation explored liquiritin's protective effect against cisplatin-induced liver damage in mice and its mechanisms.

This study explored the mechanisms underlying raw pecan flavor biosynthesis using pathway-based metabolomics and statistical correlation analysis. Three pecan cultivars-'Avalon,' 'Desirable,' and 'Sumner'-were collected and evaluated. Ten major flavor formation pathways were identified and targeted, including glycolysis, sucrose metabolism, the citric acid cycle, 2,3-butanedione and 3-penten-2-one biosynthesis, valine-derived volatiles, terpenoid backbone biosynthesis, lipoxygenase pathway, flavonoid biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid pathway, and shikimic acid pathway.

Micro/nanoplastics (MNPs), detected in human tissues including the placenta, raise significant concerns regarding their potential impact on early human development. However, the mechanisms underlying their developmental toxicity remain poorly understood. To address this, we applied an Integrated Approaches to Testing and Assessment (IATA) framework to evaluate the developmental toxicity of polystyrene (PS) MNPs by combining adverse outcome pathway (AOP) development, experimental testing within an Integrated Testing Strategy (ITS), and literature-based data integration.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the experiences of patients who had a joint endocrinology consultation for transition to adult care at Marseille university hospitals between 2010 and 2020, focusing on patient follow-up, satisfaction, difficulties, and expectations.
Methods: A healthcare transition questionnaire was designed and administered to patients several years after transition to adult care.
Results: One hundred and fifteen patients with rare endocrine disorders were included, with a mean age of 18.
