Objective: The extract of different species of has been successfully used as a remedy for treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis. The aim of this study was to assess the leishmanicidal effect of () extract.
Materials And Methods: Ethanolic percolated and methanolic Soxhlet extract of on promastigotes of at different concentrations of extracts, one positive control group and one negative control group as well as 1 solvent control were prepared and placed in 24-well plates that contained 40,000 parasites/well. Afterwards, plates were incubated at 25 ˚C for six days and number of parasites in each well were determined on days 2, 4 and 6 of the experiment.
Results: Both percolated and Soxhlet extracts in methanol and DMSO solvents had significant effects (equal to that of amphotericin B) on promastigote form of parasite at the concentration of 1 mg/ml. At lower concentrations, the extracts of had favorable leishmanicidal activity and killed promastigotes dose-dependently.
Conclusion: Our results support the possibility of extracts application as an anti-leishmanial agent with similar effects to amphotericin B.

This study explores the computational isolation of prostaglandin (PG) isomers, specifically PG E (PGE) and D (PGD), to enhance method development efficiency and provide insights into their retention behavior during supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) combined with supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC)-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). Although PGE and PGD are positional isomers that yield identical product ions in MS/MS, they serve distinct biological roles. This research illustrates the efficacy of selected reaction monitoring (SRM)-based techniques for differentiating coeluting isomers.

Liver cancer is the fourth most deadly cancer worldwide, but existing treatment options are insufficient, thus highlighting the urgent need for new therapeutic agents. Taxanes, known for their anticancer properties, provide a promising avenue for intervention. In this study, a tetracyclic taxane compound with antitumor activity (taxinine) was extracted and isolated from Taxus chinensis (T.

Irsenontrine is a novel phosphodiesterase-9 inhibitor that has been developed for the treatment of cognitive dysfunction. To assess the pharmacokinetics, excretion, and distribution of the drug in humans, comprehensive assays for irsenontrine were developed using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in three human matrices, including plasma, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Irsenontrine was extracted from the matrices by a straightforward protein precipitation method and subsequently separated on a reverse-phase column.
