Article Abstract

Pd-Ru, Pd-Rh, Pd-Pt-Ru, and Pd-Rh-Ru electrodes were prepared as thin layers by potentiostatic codeposition or chemical co-precipitation of metals from baths containing mixtures of chloride salts. The formation of substitutional solid solutions, with lattice parameters smaller than that of pure Pd, was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The compositions at various levels of sample volume and thickness were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), and also electrochemically by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 0.5 M H₂SO₄. The differences between surface, subsurface, and bulk compositions were compared for various systems in a wide composition spectrum.

Background: This study aimed to develop gluten-free bread from chickpea flour by incorporation of varying levels (0 (B-C), 2.5 (B-1), 5 (B-2), and 10 g kg (B-3)) of madımak leaf powder (MLP), and to investigate its effect on physicochemical and bioactive properties, glycemic index, texture, and sensory attributes.

Results: Moisture ranged from 229 (B-3) to 244 g kg (control), while ash content increased with MLP, reaching 47 g kg in B-3 compared to 15.

Avocado () stands out as one of the most significant crops globally. Due to its abundance in essential nutrients and phytochemicals, its consumption and commercialization have notably surged in recent years. The interplay between genotype and environment profoundly influences fruit maturity dates and physicochemical attributes.

Background And Aim: Probiotic viability remains a critical challenge during gastrointestinal (GI) transit, storage, and feed processing. Conventional encapsulation materials often fail under acidic and thermal stress. This study aimed to develop and characterize a novel, eco-friendly microencapsulation system using (FP) seed extract as a natural encapsulating matrix for (LP) WU2502, enhancing its functional resilience and storage stability.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common clinical syndrome characterized by abnormal renal function and structure. Microcirculatory perfusion disorders and inflammatory responses are critical pathophysiologies of AKI. Recently, ultrasound molecular imaging has been considered a valuable tool for preclinical and clinical diagnostics that can sensitively target histological structures of interest, particularly in evaluating renal microcirculation.

Sri Lanka is uniquely situated at the junction of the Bay of Bengal (BOB) and the Arabian Sea (AS), where phytoplankton community may be strongly influenced by ocean dynamical processes, particularly mesoscale eddies and the East Indian Coastal Current (EICC). Here, to explore these regulatory mechanisms, phytoplankton and physicochemical parameters were collected from the top 200 m water column in the eastern and southern seas of Sri Lanka during the winter monsoon. Results showed higher concentrations of nutrients and phytoplankton abundance within the regions affected by EICC and cyclonic eddy (CE) compared to anticyclonic eddy (ACE).
