An ultra-high density genetic map containing 34,574 sequence-defined markers was developed in Lupinus angustifolius. Markers closely linked to nine genes of agronomic traits were identified. A physical map was improved to cover 560.5 Mb genome sequence. Lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.) is a recently domesticated legume grain crop. In this study, we applied the restriction-site associated DNA sequencing (RADseq) method to genotype an F recombinant inbred line population derived from a wild type × domesticated cultivar (W × D) cross. A high density linkage map was developed based on the W × D population. By integrating sequence-defined DNA markers reported in previous mapping studies, we established an ultra-high density consensus genetic map, which contains 34,574 markers consisting of 3508 loci covering 2399 cM on 20 linkage groups. The largest gap in the entire consensus map was 4.73 cM. The high density W × D map and the consensus map were used to develop an improved physical map, which covered 560.5 Mb of genome sequence data. The ultra-high density consensus linkage map, the improved physical map and the markers linked to genes of breeding interest reported in this study provide a common tool for genome sequence assembly, structural genomics, comparative genomics, functional genomics, QTL mapping, and molecular plant breeding in lupin.

Polymer dielectrics have attracted substantial attention for their extensive applications in advanced electronic power systems. However, their practical implementation is substantially hindered by the drastic deterioration in breakdown strength and energy storage capabilities at elevated temperatures. Herein, corrugated alumina (AlO) nanosheets anchored with uniformly dispersed silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are fabricated via a sequential bimetallic ion exchange method using polyimide (PI) film as the sacrificing template.

In response to the urgent need for highly efficient adsorbents for natural flavonoid compounds, this study proposes a novel layered porous aerogel (TOCNS@CS) based on a synergistic hydrogen bonding/electrostatic interaction mechanism. Through a green aqueous sol-gel method, TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanocrystals (TOCNS) were cross-linked with chitosan (CS), and combined with freeze-drying technology to construct a lightweight, recyclable adsorbent material. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed the synergistic adsorption pathways of carboxyl (-COOH) and amino (-NH₂) groups, enabling ultra-high selectivity in the capture of flavonoid compounds.

The burgeoning Internet of Things demands highly customizable microbatteries (MBs) to power miniaturized electronics, yet challenges exist in fabricating ultra-small MBs and integrating customizable modules within confined areas. Herein, we report a novel photolithographic microfabrication strategy enabling the large-scale production of monolithic integrated ultra-small MBs. The approach utilizes photoresist grooves as micropattern templates and employs a non-destructive mechanical peeling process to fabricate precise MBs with a compact area of 2.

Age-related cognitive and psychological impairments are frequently accompanied by bone mineral density decline in older adults. Ultra-high hydrostatic pressurized brown rice (UBR) may support cognitive and bone health; however, the interplay between these domains remains unclear. The present randomized controlled trial aimed to examine the effects of daily UBR consumption for 12 months on cognitive function, mental health and bone status in community-dwelling older adults.

Vocal communication is a complex social behavior that entails the integration of auditory perception and vocal production. Both anatomical and functional evidence have implicated the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), including area 32, in these processes, but the dynamics of neural responses in area 32 during naturalistic vocal interactions remain poorly understood. Here, we addressed this by recording the activity of single area 32 neurons using chronically implanted ultra high density Neuropixels probes in freely moving male common marmosets () engaged in an antiphonal calling paradigm in which they exchanged long-distance "phee" calls with a virtual conspecific.
