We present a hybrid laser frequency stabilization method combining modulation transfer spectroscopy (MTS) and frequency modulation spectroscopy (FMS) for the cesium D transition. In a typical pump-probe setup, the error signal is a combination of the DC-coupled MTS error signal and the AC-coupled FMS error signal. This combines the long-term stability of the former with the high signal-to-noise ratio of the latter. In addition, we enhance the long-term frequency stability with laser intensity stabilization. By measuring the frequency difference between two independent hybrid spectroscopies, we investigate the short-and long-term stability. We find a long-term stability of 7.8 kHz characterized by a standard deviation of the beating frequency drift over the course of 10 h and a short-term stability of 1.9 kHz characterized by an Allan deviation of that at 2 s of integration time.

Unrelated pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, use a common short linear motif (SLiM) to interact with cellular kinases of the RSK (p90 S6 ribosomal kinase) family. Such a "DDVF" (D/E-D/E-V-F) SLiM occurs in the leader (L) protein encoded by picornaviruses of the genus , including Theiler's murine encephalomyelitis virus (TMEV), Boone cardiovirus (BCV), and Encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV). The L-RSK complex is targeted to the nuclear pore, where RSK triggers FG-nucleoporins hyperphosphorylation, thereby causing nucleocytoplasmic trafficking disruption.

Monopulse radar angle measurement technology is crucial for modern missile precision guidance systems due to its high accuracy and real-time capabilities. Cross-eye jamming (CEJ) is recognized as one of the most effective countermeasures against monopulse radar. However, traditional CEJ implementation requires complex amplitude and phase modulation through specialized hardware.

Recent theoretical and algorithmic advances in introgression detection, coupled with the growing availability of genome-scale data, have highlighted the widespread occurrence of interspecific gene flow across the tree of life. However, current methods largely depend on the molecular clock assumption-a questionable premise given empirical evidence of substitution rate variation across lineages. While such rate heterogeneity is known to compromise gene flow detection among divergent lineages, its impact on closely related taxa at shallow evolutionary timescales remains poorly understood, likely because these taxa are often assumed to adhere to a molecular clock.

Accurate three-dimensional localisation of ultrasonic bat calls is essential for advancing behavioural and ecological research. I present a comprehensive, open-source simulation framework-Array WAH-for designing, evaluating, and optimising microphone arrays tailored to bioacoustic tracking. The tool incorporates biologically realistic signal generation, frequency-dependent propagation, and advanced Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) localisation algorithms, enabling precise quantification of both positional and angular accuracy.

In charge detection mass spectrometry (CD-MS) ions are trapped in an electrostatic linear ion trap (ELIT) where they oscillate back and forth through a conducting cylinder. The oscillating ions induce a periodic charge separation that is detected by a charge sensitive amplifier (CSA) connected to the cylinder. The resulting time domain signal is analyzed using short-time Fourier transforms to give the mass-to-charge ratio and charge for each ion, which are then multiplied to give the mass.
