Article Abstract

We applaud the goal of reconciling the self and group literatures and agree that a differentiated self may sometimes improve group outcomes. Nevertheless, greater precision regarding the underlying mechanisms is needed. Specifically, differentiated selves improve outcomes by overriding selfishness when they allow for personal regulation (being personally recognized and valued) rather than social regulation (specialization of labor).

Background: Preoperative embolization is hypothesized to reduce blood loss and operative time for meningioma resection, but the impact of preoperative embolization on long-term oncological outcomes and molecular features of meningiomas is incompletely understood. Here we investigate how preoperative embolization influences perioperative and long-term outcomes and molecular features of atypical WHO grade 2 meningiomas.

Methods: Patients who underwent resection of WHO grade 2 meningiomas from 1997 to 2021 were retrospectively identified from an institutional database.

Anastrepha obliqua, a neotropical pest widely distributed in the Americas, attacks mango and other tropical fruits. In Mexico, it is controlled through integrated pest management, using the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) as a main component. The applicability of SIT is significantly improved with the use of genetic sexing strains (GSS) that allow the possibility to release exclusively sterile males, the primary component of the technique.

BACKGROUND This study aims to explore the therapeutic mechanisms of Jinshuiqing (JSQ) in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) using transcriptomic analysis and animal experimentation. MATERIAL AND METHODS Six-week-old male C57BL/6 mice (20±2 g) were divided into 2 groups: IgAN model and JSQ-treated. The IgAN model was induced in SIRT3 knockout mice with acidified BSA, CCl4, castor oil, and LPS injections.
