Article Abstract

A novel Ag/oxide-based threshold switching device with attractive features including ≈10 nonlinearity is developed. High-resolution transmission electron microscopic analysis of the nanoscale crosspoint device suggests that elongation of an Ag nanoparticle under voltage bias followed by spontaneous reformation of a more spherical shape after power off is responsible for the observed threshold switching.

Confronting the dual challenges of carbon neutrality and sustainable energy, photocatalytic CO reduction requires precise control over product selectivity. This study demonstrates that surface hydroxyl (-OH) density serves as a molecular switch for reaction pathways in graphene oxide/cobalt tetraphenylporphyrin (GO/CoTPP) hybrids. By tuning the reduction degree of GO supports via gradient hydrazine hydrate treatment (0-85%), we constructed catalysts with controlled -OH concentrations.

The integration of information memory and computing enabled by nonvolatile memristive device has been widely acknowledged as a critical solution to circumvent the von Neumann architecture limitations. Herein, the Au/NiO/CaBiTiO/FTO (CBTi/NiO) heterojunction based memristor with varying film thicknesses are demonstrated on FTO/glass substrates, and the CBTi/NiO-4 sample shows the optimal memristor characteristics with 5 × 10 stable switching cycles and 10-s resistance state retention. The electrical conduction in the low-resistance state is dominated by Ohmic behavior, while the high-resistance state exhibited characteristics consistent with the space-charge-limited conduction (SCLC) model.

A common eligibility criterion in respiratory clinical trials is a per cent-predicted forced expiratory volume in 1 second (ppFEV) between 40% and 90%, using the ethnicity-dependent Global Lung Function Initiative (GLI)-2012 spirometry reference equations. International societies now endorse the newer 'race-neutral' GLI-Global equations. We quantify the impact on trial eligibility of switching from GLI-2012 to GLI-Global for the UK Cystic Fibrosis Registry (n=8182).

Polymer resistive random-access memory (RRAM) holds great promise for flexible wearable electronics and artificial intelligence, yet its development is hindered by chain entanglement and intermolecular interactions, leading to processing challenges, high operating voltages, and unstable switching parameters. Herein, metal-porphyrin-terminated hyperbranched polyimides (ATPP@HBPI, (Zn)ATPP@HBPI, and (Cu)ATPP@HBPI) were synthesized. The hyperbranched structure mitigates intermolecular interactions, while ionic doping modulates conductivity, and the synergistic effect of ions and electrons optimizes resistive switching behavior.
