Using a 3D stretching method, a highly elastic reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/polyacrylic ester hierarchically wrinkled elastic transparent conductor (HWETC) is fabricated. Periodic hierarchical N-rGO layer wrinkling allows the HWETC to show high conductivity (100-457 Ω ◻ ) and transmittance (67-85%) under substantial stretching (>400%) and bending deformation (≈180°), which enables electrothermal actuation and strain sensing.

Hydrogen embrittlement (HE) poses a significant challenge to the durability of materials used in hydrogen production and utilization. Disentangling the competing nanoscale mechanisms driving HE often relies on simulations and electron-transparent sample techniques, limiting experimental insights into hydrogen-induced dislocation behavior in bulk materials. This study employs in situ Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction imaging to track three-dimensional (3D) dislocation and strain field evolution during hydrogen charging in a bulk grain of austenitic 316 stainless steel.

Background Biotin, a vital cofactor for carboxylase enzymes, plays a key role in metabolic processes, while silica is believed to support collagen synthesis, contributing to improved skin and hair health. This study investigates the dermatological benefits of standardized plant-based supplements formulated with biotin derived from and a biotin-silica blend extracted from Methods A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial enrolled 105 participants, with 97 completing the 90-day study. Participants received either Treatment A (placebo), Treatment B (botanical extract of standardised for biotin, 1.

Auxiliary buttons are often required in clear aligner therapy for elastic traction. We introduce an adhesiveless flame-fusion technique for affixing auxiliary metal buttons to clear aligners, aiming to eliminate the extra chair time, occasional debonding, and translucent haze associated with resin adhesives. Round‑base stainless‑steel buttons are grasped with locking forceps, heated in an alcohol flame (~600-650 °C for 10-15 s), and immediately pressed with moderate manual pressure (~5 N) for 5-10 s onto 0.

This paper reports on the use of acetyl-L-valine (Ac-Val) as an effective and precise pH modifier for inducing hydrogel formation. Ac-Val offers several advantages: it is fully water-soluble, overcoming dissolution issues, and allows for stock solution preparation to fine-tune trigger volume and final material pH. As a weaker carboxylic acid compared to inorganic acids, Ac-Val enables more controlled pH variation.

Here, we present a model for calculating the mechanical power delivered by the metabolism while running in alpine settings. The aim is to quantify power for various conditions in trail and mountain running, using data from modern consumer sports watches and complementary acceleration sensors. After extending an existing analytical model by including collision losses, speed-dependent elastic energy storage, a force-rate contribution, and an additional power component accounting for upper-body movement, we generalize it to running uphill and downhill.
