The aim of the study was to validate a new method for semiautomatic subtraction of [Tc]Tc-sestamibi and [Tc]NaTcO SPECT 3-dimensional datasets using principal component analysis (PCA) against the results of parathyroid surgery and to compare its performance with an interactive method for visual comparison of images. We also sought to identify factors that affect the accuracy of lesion detection using the two methods. Scintigraphic data from [Tc]Tc-sestamibi and [Tc]NaTcO SPECT were analyzed using semiautomatic subtraction of the 2 registered datasets based on PCA applied to the region of interest including the thyroid and an interactive method for visual comparison of the 2 image datasets.

Objectives: We propose a YOLOv11-TDSP model for improving the accuracy of dental abnormality detection on panoramic oral X-ray images.

Methods: The SHSA single-head attention mechanism was integrated with C2PSA in the backbone layer to construct a new C2PSA_SHSA attention mechanism. The computational redundancy was reduced by applying single-head attention to some input channels to enhance the efficiency and detection accuracy of the model.

Adaptive and context-aware volumetric printing.

We introduce Generative, Adaptive, Context-Aware 3D Printing (GRACE), a new approach combining 3D imaging, computer vision and parametric modelling to create tailored, context-aware geometries using volumetric additive manufacturing. GRACE rapidly and automatically generates complex structures capable of conforming directly around features ranging from cellular to macroscopic scales with minimal user intervention. Here we demonstrate its versatility in applications ranging from synthetic objects to biofabrication, including adaptive vascular-like geometries around cell-laden bioinks, resulting in improved functionality.

Internal motive states, such as sexual arousal, drive behaviour in response to social cues. However, little is known about how internal states and external cues are integrated to release appropriate behaviours at the correct moment during a social interaction, such as the transition from the appetitive to the consummatory phases of mating. Here we identify a neural circuit in male mice that gates the onset of consummatory reproductive behaviours on contact with a mating partner.

Parental incarceration can be stressful for children, leading to less optimal development. Although parental incarceration typically takes place among other adversities, resilience processes occur in many families, for example, in instances of secure child-caregiver attachment relationships. Yet, it is not known how secure attachments are associated with stress processes in children with incarcerated parents, especially in the context of other risks.
