Article Abstract

Due to their all-electrical nature, impedance biosensors have significant potential for use as simple and portable sensors for environmental studies and environmental monitoring. Detection of two endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDC), norfluoxetine and BDE-47, is reported here by impedance biosensing, with a detection limit of 8.5 and 1.3 ng/mL for norfluoxetine and BDE-47, respectively. Although impedance biosensors have been widely studied in the academic literature, commercial applications have been hindered by several technical limitations, including possible limitations to small analytes, the complexity of impedance detection, susceptibility to nonspecific adsorption, and stability of biomolecule immobilization. Recent research into methods to overcome these obstacles is briefly reviewed. New results demonstrating antibody regeneration atop degenerate (highly doped) Si are also reported. Using 0.2 M KSCN and 10 mM HF for antibody regeneration, peanut protein Ara h 1 is detected daily during a 30 day trial.

Bacterial detection is crucial for accurate clinical diagnostics and effective environmental monitoring. Particularly, , a pathogenic bacterium, can cause a wide range of infections, including meningitis, bloodstream infections, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and wound or surgical site infections. Herein, a polypyrrole (PPy) functionalized TiCT -tin dioxide nanoparticle (SnO NPs) nanocomposite-based hybrid capacitive electrode for the electrochemical detection of ATCC 700603 is developed.

Rapid detection of live Salmonella typhimurium in food is critical for preventing contamination and protecting public health. Traditional methods, though reliable, are slow, costly, and require centralized labs. Many existing biosensors primarily detect dead bacteria, increasing false-positive risks.

Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) is a leading cause of cervical cancer among women worldwide. This study presents an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)-based biosensor for the sensitive and selective detection of HPV-16 mutant DNA. A single-stranded DNA probe complementary to the target sequence was immobilized on a gold interdigitated electrode (G-IDE) modified with lanthanum strontium cobalt ferrite LaSrCoFeO (LSCF) nanopowder to enhance charge transfer.

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide. Human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) is one of the common biomarkers which cause cervical cancer. In this work, an electrochemical sensor based on a triblock polyadenine-based probe (TPP) and copper nanoclusters (CuNCs) was constructed for the rapid, sensitive and selective detection of HPV16.

This paper presents the novel design of a printed, low-cost, dual-port, and dual-polarized slot antenna for microwave biomedical radars. The butterfly shape of the radiating element, with orthogonally positioned arms, enables simultaneous radiation of both vertically and horizontally polarized waves. The antenna is intended for full-duplex in-band applications using two mutually isolated antenna ports, with the CPW port on the same side of the substrate as the slot antenna and the microstrip port positioned orthogonally on the other side of the substrate.
