Objective: Objectives were to evaluate latency-based brief functional analysis (BFA) model for identifying functions of aberrant behavior and treatments generated based on the results of the latency-based brief functional analysis.
Methods: We conducted latency-based BFA, including contingency reversals, and function-based treatment evaluations, including non-contingent reinforcement (NCR) and differential reinforcement of alternative behavior (DRA) with three individuals with autism using single subject design methodology.
Results: Socially-mediated functions (attention; tangible) were indicated for two participants and an automatic function was identified for one participant. The treatments generated based on results of the BFA were effective at reducing aberrant behavior for all participants.
Conclusions: Results provide additional support that latency-based BFA model has utility in (a) the identification of functions of aberrant behavior and (b) the generation of function-based treatments. These results suggest clinicians who encounter setting and client-specific constraints (e.g. time; severity of aberrant behavior) have additional flexibility in choosing assessment tools.

Polystyrene nanoparticles (PS-NPs) are prevalent environmental contaminants that can accumulate in biological tissues. This study investigates the effects of PS-NPs on TM4 cells, a Sertoli cell line crucial for maintaining the male spermatogenesis microenvironment.TM4 cells were exposed to PS-NPs (0-100 μg/mL) duration of 24 to 72 h.

Quantum imaging with spatially entangled photons offers advantages such as enhanced spatial resolution, robustness against noise, and counterintuitive phenomena, while a biphoton spatial aberration generally degrades its performance. Biphoton aberration correction has been achieved by using classical beams to detect the aberration source or scanning the correction phase on biphotons if the source is unreachable. Here, a new method named position-correlated biphoton Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensing is introduced, where the phase pattern added on photon pairs with a strong position correlation is reconstructed from their position centroid distribution at the back focal plane of a microlens array.

The malignant manifestation of breast cancer is driven by complex molecular alterations that extend beyond genetic mutations to include epigenetic dysregulation. Among these, DNA methylation is a critical and reversible epigenetic modification that significantly influences breast cancer initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance. This process, mediated by DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs), involves the addition of methyl groups to cytosine residues within CpG dinucleotides, resulting in transcriptional repression of genes.

Plastoglobuli (PG) are plant lipoprotein compartments, present in plastid organelles. They are involved in the formation and/or storage of lipophilic metabolites. FIBRILLINs (FBNs) are one of the main PG-associated proteins and are particularly abundant in carotenoid-enriched chromoplasts found in ripe fruits and flowers.

Purpose: To evaluate axis-dependent visual and refractive outcomes of small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) in patients with interocular astigmatic axis discordance.
Methods: Seventy-five patients (150 eyes) with interocular astigmatic axis discordance were included in the study. Based on interocular axis combinations, patients were stratified into three cohorts: with-the-rule (WTR)/against-the-rule (ATR) (n = 19), WTR/oblique astigmatism (OA) (n = 39), and ATR/OA (n = 17).
