Bone healing requires Schwann cells (SCs) paracrine factors for mesenchymal stem cell function. Diabetes mellitus (DM) patients are susceptible to developing SCs dysfunction and impairing bone healing. Rare research considered reconstructing mesenchymal stem cell-schwann cell circuitry in diabetic bone regeneration.

Objective: This multicenter study aimed to investigate resting-state brain functional alterations in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) comorbid with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and to elucidate the underlying neural mechanisms.

Methods: A total of 139 participants were enrolled from two centers, including 48 healthy controls (HCs), 46 T2DM patients, and 45 T2DM with OSA patients. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) was used to assess brain function using degree centrality (DC), amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), and seed-based functional connectivity (FC).

Dietary non-starch plant polysaccharides: Multi-mechanisms for managing diabetic microvascular complications.

State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resources, Nanchang University, Nanchang 330047, China. Electronic address:

The global burden of diabetes has been exacerbated by a shift in dietary patterns toward diets rich in refined sugars, saturated fats and energy-dense nutrients. Diabetes is a metabolic disease characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. Persistently elevated blood glucose levels can lead to microvascular complications that contribute greatly to reduced quality of life, disability or death.

Background: Fasting during Ramadan poses distinct challenges for individuals with diabetes, especially pregnant women, due to increased metabolic demands and the heightened risk of hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, and dehydration. Although medical guidelines often advise against fasting in this group, many women still choose to observe the fast. This study aims to explore diabetes self-efficacy and self-care behaviors during and after Ramadan among pregnant women.

Background: There is a lack of data to predict futile recanalization (FR) after endovascular treatment (EVT) in acute anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (ACLVO) with large core infarction.

Methods: This analysis included patients from a national multicenter stroke registry (November 2021 to February 2023). Patients who achieved successful recanalization (expanded Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction [eTICI] score ≥2b) after EVT were categorized into two groups: meaningful recanalization (MR; 90-day modified Rankin scale [mRS] 0-3) and FR (mRS 4-6).
