Objectives: Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) using bilateral internal thoracic artery (BITA) conduits can achieve good outcomes for multivessel lesions. This study evaluated early angiographic patency and outcomes following off-pump CABG (OPCAB) using only in situ BITA and right gastroepiploic artery (rGEA) grafts.
Methods: This retrospective analysis included patients undergoing OPCAB using only in situ skeletonized BITA and rGEA grafts (July 2007 to March 2019).

Objective: Previous studies have demonstrated that preoperative oral carbohydrates (CHO) can alleviate postoperative insulin resistance (IR) and enhance recovery in non-diabetic patients undergoing cardiac surgery. However, the potential benefits in diabetic patients remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of preoperative CHO on IR and postoperative recovery in diabetic patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB).

Stroke is a serious complication that occurs in approximately 3% of patients undergoing elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Neurologic dysfunction is a well-researched challenge in cardiac surgery, particularly when cardiopulmonary bypass is used. This study aimed to determine the stroke rate following CABG in a Jordanian population, based on our experience at a low-volume cardiac center.

Background: Postoperative delirium (POD) is a frequent and serious complication in older adults after cardiac surgery. Blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction is implicated in cognitive decline, but its preoperative role in POD remains underexplored. This pilot study aimed to investigate the association between preoperative regional BBB permeability, assessed by dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI), and POD in older patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG).

: The NeoChord procedure is a trans-ventricular, echo-guided, beating-heart mitral valve (MV) repair technique used to treat degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR) caused by leaflet prolapse and/or flail. : This study aimed to develop a machine learning (ML) scoring system using pre-procedural clinical and echocardiographic variables to predict the success of the NeoChord procedure-defined as less than moderate MR at follow-up. A total of 80 patients were included.
