Article Abstract

Based on the bottom trawl survey and environmental investigation data in December 2011, and by using species diversity indices and multi-element analysis, this paper studied the species composition, species diversity, and spatial pattern of fish community as well as their relationships with environmental factors in Haizhou Bay and adjacent waters. A total of 60 fish species were captured, belonging to 51 genera, 34 families, and 10 orders, and mainly composed of warm temperature and warm water demersal fishes. The Margalef species richness index, Shannon diversity index, and Pielou evenness index ranged from 1.14 to 2.84, 1.08 to 2.64, and 0.41 to 0.83, respectively. Cluster analysis and non-metric multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis showed that the fish community could be spatially clustered into three groups. Group I was in the north of 35 N, group II was in the inshore waters near bay-head, and group III was in the south of 35 degrees N. ANOSIM analysis showed that there existed highly significant differences (R = 0.45-0.91) in the fish species composition among the groups. The canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) indicated that the bottom water temperature, water depth, and sea surface salinity were the most important environmental variables affecting the spatial pattern of fish community in Haizhou Bay and adjacent waters in winter.

Microscopic variation of oxygen consumption rate in sediments from shellfish farming zones of Haizhou Bay, China.

Mar Environ Res

Shellfish mariculture significantly enhances particulate organic carbon (POC) deposition through biodeposition, but the accompanying processes of sediment oxygen consumption and organic carbon mineralization constrain its carbon sequestration potential. In this study, high-resolution microelectrode profiling was used to characterize oxygen dynamics at the sediment-water interface (SWI) in four different areas of Haizhou Bay: two shellfish farming zones (SF-1 and SF-2) and two no-farming control zones (SC and OF). Key findings included that oxygen penetration depth (OPD) in shellfish farming zones (2.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic value of machine learning-based MRI imaging in differentiating benign and malignant prostate cancer and detecting clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa, defined as Gleason score ≥7) using systematic review and meta-analysis methods.

Methods: Electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Embase) were systematically searched for predictive studies using machine learning-based MRI imaging for prostate cancer diagnosis. Sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC) were used to assess the diagnostic accuracy of machine learning-based MRI imaging for both benign/malignant prostate cancer and csPCa.

The interaction between tidal currents and the shoal topography in coastal ocean generates complex residual currents, which significantly affects material transport and ecological environments. This study examines a typical underwater shoal in Haizhou Bay, Yellow Sea, China, to explore the material transport patterns and their impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Using the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) coupled with a particle tracking model, we simulate the material transport processes and apply several Lagrangian analysis methods, including Lagrangian residual current (LRC), Lagrangian coherent structures (LCS), and average absolute dispersion (AD), to describe these patterns.

, with strong reproductive capacity and rapid growth, is an important nearshore fishing target in Qingdao. The distribution characteristics of resources in Qingdao and their influencing factors are largely unknown, which is detrimental to the protection and utilization of these resources. Based on the bottom trawl survey data of fishery resources carried out in the coastal waters of Qingdao during the summer and autumn seasons from 2018 to 2022, in combination with the data of environmental and spatial factors such as bottom seawater temperature, bottom seawater salinity, water depth, longitude and latitude, we analyzed the spatio-temporal variations of resources in this sea area, and the relationship between the distribution of resources and related factors using the random forest model.

Seasonal Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Patterns of the Squid , , , and in the Southern Yellow and East China Seas: Predictions Under Different Climate Scenarios.

Animals (Basel)

June 2025

Key Laboratory of East China Sea Fishery Resources Exploitation, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Shanghai 200090, China.

For successful economic management of cephalopod fisheries, short-lived squid with a 1-year life span require stock assessment over a short timescale, accompanied by both in-season and real-time stock management. However, insufficient information is available about the dynamic distribution patterns of the squid , , , and in China. Such information is vital for establishing a sustainable fisheries management system.
