A modular automated radionuclide separator for (99)Tc (MARS Tc-99) has been developed for the rapid and reproducible separation of technetium in groundwater samples. The control software of MARS Tc-99 was developed in the LabView programming language. An automated radiochemical method for separating (99)Tc was developed and validated by the purification of (99m)Tc tracer solution eluted from a commercial (99)Mo/(99m)Tc generator. The chemical recovery and analytical time for this radiochemical method were found to be 96 ± 2% and 81 min, respectively.

Naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) are present in waste generated during shale gas drilling activities and pose potential risks to the environment, drawing increasing public and scientific attention. In this study, soil, wastewater and effluent samples were collected across multiple operational stages of shale gas development in Southwest China. A combination of in-situ gamma absorbed dose rate in air, soil radon concentration, radionuclide activity concentrations, and conventional hazard indices was used to evaluate environmental radioactivity and potential occupational exposure.

Background: The gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota, composed of diverse microbial communities, is essential for physiological processes, including immune modulation. Strains such as Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 support gut health by reducing inflammation and resisting pathogens. Microbial therapies using such strains may restore GI balance and offer alternatives to antibiotics, whose overuse contributes to antibiotic resistance.

Background: Patient-specific dosimetry in radiopharmaceutical therapy (RPT) offers a promising approach to optimize the balance between treatment efficacy and toxicity. The introduction of 360° CZT gamma cameras enables the development of personalized dosimetry studies using whole-body single photon emission computed tomography and computed tomography (SPECT/CT) data.
Purpose: This study proposes to validate the collapsed-cone superposition (CCS) approach against Monte Carlo (MC) simulations for whole-body dosimetry of [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 therapy in patients with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).

In geological and engineering practices, determining fracture intensity of rock masses is critical for the exploitation of resources such as oil, natural gas, uranium, and geothermal energy. Due to the lack of technological means to directly measure the distribution of rock fractures, it is very difficult to obtain the rock fracture intensity. This paper proposes an integrated approach to predicting rock fracture intensity based on artificial neural network (ANN) and radon tracing.
