Subcortical vascular mild cognitive impairment (svMCI), a prodromal stage of subcortical vascular dementia (SVaD), is primarily associated with frontal injuries, whereas amnestic MCI (aMCI) is associated with temporoparietal injuries. Twenty-seven patients with svMCI, 20 with aMCI, 14 with SVaD, and 10 normal controls underwent motor intentional tasks (force initiation, development, maintenance, and termination) using a force dynamometer. Of the four motor intentional tasks, the maintenance task proved sensitive in differentiating svMCI from aMCI. In most motor intentional tasks, performances of svMCI patients were intermediate between those of controls and SVaD patients (initiation and termination: NC=aMCI=svMCI>SVaD; development: NC>aMCI=svMCI>SVaD; maintenance: NC=aMCI>svMCI=SVaD).

Aims: Decoding the motor intention by electroencephalography to control external devices is an effective method of helping spinal cord injury (SCI) patients to regain motor function. Still, SCI patients have much lower accuracy in the decoding of motor intentions compared to healthy individuals, which severely hampers the clinical application. However, the underlying neural mechanisms are still unknown.

Introduction: Preterm infants are at risk of developmental impairment, especially those born before 33 weeks gestational age. Many studies have shown a positive impact of early interventions on medical outcomes during hospitalisation, long-term cognitive development and parental anxiety. Infant Behavioral Assessment and Intervention Program (IBAIP) has shown positive effects on cognitive development but also on motor impairment in a Dutch cohort.

Introduction: Head and neck cancer (HNC) accounts for over 4% of global cancer incidence, yet the oncological treatment induces several sequelae such as oral dysfunction, cervical and shoulder impairments or pain that are not well addressed. Thus, survivors of HNC (sHNC) perceive a decrease in their quality of life (QoL).
