Objective: To explore the intervention effect of the auricular stimulator in the cavum concha for diabetes.
Methods: Forty-five cases were treated with auricular simulator in the cavum concha for 30 min, once daily for consecutive 3 months. The changes of the fasting plasma glucose (FBG), blood glucose load after 2-hour 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (P2 BG)and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) were compared before and after treatment.
Results: The level of the HbA1c was obviously decreased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and there were also statistically significant differences in FBG and P2 BG after the treatment (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).
Conclusion: With the auricular stimulator, the stimulation in the cavum concha is benefit for the improvement of HbA1c of the diabetes.

Background: Single-stage flap reconstruction of surgical defects of the anterior mid and lower ear can prove challenging due to a relative paucity of local and adjacent tissues. While staged flap options for such defects are well described, similar single-stage options are lacking.
Objective: The authors describe surgical techniques for the design and execution of single-stage local flaps to repair soft tissue defects on the concha cavum, incisura, antitragus, antihelix, and lobule after skin cancer extirpation.

3D scanning capture complex ear morphology, but most research focuses on dimensions defined by product design or ergonomic guidelines, often missing crucial 3D details, especially those of ear canal for in-ear product design. This study conducted a statistical shape analysis on the 3D geometry of the cavum concha and the external auditory meatus (EAM) using 1195 scans of Chinese ears. A surface registration method was adopted to standardise and align ear models for shape analysis.
