Based on the generalized Lorenz-Mie theory (GLMT), this paper reveals, for the first time in the literature, the principal characteristics of the optical forces and radiation pressure cross-sections exerted on homogeneous, linear, isotropic and spherical hypothetical negative refractive index (NRI) particles under the influence of focused Gaussian beams in the Mie regime. Starting with ray optics considerations, the analysis is then extended through calculating the Mie coefficients and the beam-shape coefficients for incident focused Gaussian beams. Results reveal new and interesting trapping properties which are not observed for commonly positive refractive index particles and, in this way, new potential applications in biomedical optics can be devised.

This study investigated the effects of Yttrium-90 (Y90) radioembolization in 8 rabbits, focusing on delivery accuracy, dosimetry, and pathological outcomes. Y90 was successfully delivered angiographically targeted via the pulmonary lower basal segmental arteries to all rabbits, with confirmation via PET/CT imaging and a lung target median of the mean dose 132.1Gy (range, 11.

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) has revolutionized neuroimaging by enabling a noninvasive visualization of tissue microstructure through the analysis of the apparent diffusion of water molecules. Originating from the foundational principles of Brownian motion and Fick's law, DTI evolved from early diffusion magnetic resonance imaging into an advanced diagnostic tool for in vivo characterization of axonal pathways. This review traces the historical development of DTI and evaluates its expanding clinical applications, particularly in assessing peripheral nerve pathologies.

Context: High-nitrogen polycyclic compounds have become a research hotspot in the design of new energetic molecules due to their dense nitrogen content, high positive enthalpy of formation, and good structural stability. In particular, the fused structures of triazole and triazine heterocycles can not only enhance energy output but also possess excellent thermal stability. This study focuses on three triazolotriazine energetic compounds: 3,7-dinitro-[1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazin-4-amine (TTX), 7-nitro-3-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazin-4-amine (compound 1), and 3,3'-dinitro-[7,7'-bi[1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazine]-4,4'-diamine (compound 2).

Stigma is common in people with chronic pain. At present, however, the measurement of stigma in Spanish-speaking individuals remains a challenge due to a lack of validated measures in Spanish. The present study examines the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Stigma Scale for Chronic Illnesses 8-item version (SSCI-8) in people with chronic pain, focusing on dimensionality, factorial invariance, reliability (internal consistency and test-retest), and construct validity.

With renewables, marine photovoltaic (PV) harnessing solar energy gains momentum, promising vast ocean space for power generation with significant benefits.Recent studies indicate that while marine PV systems are designed to address environmental challenges, they can also cause unintended ecological consequences. Mitigating potential negative impacts on aquatic environments has therefore become a critical research priority.
