Background: A large amount of experimental data generated by modern high-throughput technologies is available through various public repositories. Our knowledge about molecular interaction networks, functional biological pathways and transcriptional regulatory modules is rapidly expanding, and is being organized in lists of functionally related genes. Jointly, these two sources of information hold a tremendous potential for gaining new insights into functioning of living systems.
Results: Genomics Portals platform integrates access to an extensive knowledge base and a large database of human, mouse, and rat genomics data with basic analytical visualization tools. It provides the context for analyzing and interpreting new experimental data and the tool for effective mining of a large number of publicly available genomics datasets stored in the back-end databases. The uniqueness of this platform lies in the volume and the diversity of genomics data that can be accessed and analyzed (gene expression, ChIP-chip, ChIP-seq, epigenomics, computationally predicted binding sites, etc), and the integration with an extensive knowledge base that can be used in such analysis.
Conclusion: The integrated access to primary genomics data, functional knowledge and analytical tools makes Genomics Portals platform a unique tool for interpreting results of new genomics experiments and for mining the vast amount of data stored in the Genomics Portals backend databases. Genomics Portals can be accessed and used freely at http://GenomicsPortals.org.

Introduction: Cirrhosis progresses from compensated to decompensated phases, often marked by portal hypertension and complications like ascites, variceal hemorrhage, and hepatic encephalopathy. The ammonia-to-urea (A-to-U) ratio, reflecting urea cycle efficiency, may offer superior diagnostic performance compared to plasma ammonia levels alone. This study compared the diagnostic accuracy of the A-to-U ratio and plasma ammonia levels for identifying portal hypertension.

Unlabelled: Although wastewater treatment plants harbor many pathogens, traditional methods that monitor the microbial quality of surface water and wastewater have not changed since the early 1900s and often disregard the presence of other types of significant waterborne pathogens such as viruses. We used metagenomics and quantitative PCR to assess the taxonomy, functional profiling, and seasonal patterns of DNA and RNA viruses, including the virome distribution in aquatic environments receiving wastewater discharges. Environmental water samples were collected at 11 locations in Winnipeg, Manitoba, along the Red and Assiniboine rivers during the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2021.

Background: Breast cancer (BRCA) is the most prevalent cancer in women, with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounting for 15-20% of cases. TNBC is associated with higher rates of metastasis, recurrence, and poorer prognosis, underscoring the urgent need for new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Methods: In this study, multiple public online platform, including UCSC Genome, UALCAN, Kaplan Meier plotter, DepMap and Single Cell Portal were used to detect the expression of EPHA2 in TNBC.

Background: Broad genomic testing is necessary to treat stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. We describe a NSCLC precision medicine service at an academic-community practice and provide model-based estimates of the impact of a similar intervention.
Research Question: Will implementation of a precision medicine service increase NSCLC next-generation sequencing (NGS) rates, improve testing turnaround times (TAT), and increase rates of actionable genomic alterations (AGAs)?
Study Design And Methods: PREDICT (PREcision meDICine Thoracic) consisted of: 1) system-wide reflex testing of stage IV NSCLC patients by in-house solid tumor NGS focused assay and PD-L1 testing, 2) navigator, 3) molecular tumor board (MTB), 4) integrated information portal (OncoTracker) for real-time updates on samples processing, results, and treatment recommendations by the MTB.
Viruses assemble from component parts inside their host cells, but the mechanisms coordinating this complex process are not completely understood. In tailed bacteriophages, the genome is packaged into its capsid shell through the portal complex. The portal complex then closes to retain DNA and connects to the tail, which is required for host recognition and infection.
