To determine essential specifications for an active endoscope holder, a survey of laparoscopic procedures was conducted. A review of the literature highlighted the advantages and limitations of existing scope-holding systems. From this analysis, basic requirements were listed for such devices. Pursuant to this, an ergonomic and user-friendly laparoscope manipulator was designed to assist the surgeon. A first in vivo procedure demonstrated feasibility of the device and its value in clinical practice, enabling surgeons to work more comfortably.

Extensive research has confirmed that omega-3 fatty acids provide cardiovascular protection primarily by activating the G protein-coupled receptor 120 (GPR120) signaling pathway. However, natural activators of this receptor often lack sufficient strength and precision. TUG-891, a recently synthesized selective GPR120 activator, has displayed significant therapeutic potential in multiple disease.

The global rise of mosquito-borne diseases and widespread resistance to existing insecticides highlight the urgent need for novel, field-relevant mosquitocides. Here, we report the development and validation of a high-throughput, in vivo screening assay capable of evaluating adult mosquito toxicity across large chemical libraries. Utilizing a 96-well plate format, this assay enables simultaneous testing of hundreds of compounds per run using both net and filter paper substrates, with direct measurement of adult mosquito knockdown and mortality via tarsal contact - an exposure route highly relevant to real-world vector control tools such as long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) and indoor residual spraying (IRS).

The overreliance on traditional chemical fungicides, combined with the emergence of resistance, poses significant challenges for food safety. Early blight, caused by the fungal pathogen Alternaria solani (A. solani), is among the most significant contributors to pre- and postharvest yield losses in tomato cultivation.

Background: Zinc (Zn) and cadmium (Cd) ions are ubiquitous in industrial and daily life. Despite their critical impact on food safety and human health, current probes face significant limitations in simultaneously detecting both ions in complex food matrices.
Results: Herein, we successfully developed a pyrene-based FRET ratiometric fluorescent probe QP for the highly selective detection of Zn and Cd.
