Article Abstract

An unusual type of mixed totally anomalous pulmonary venous drainage in an 11-year-old boy was diagnosed on angiography. The left-side veins drained via a vertical vein into the portal venous system, while the right-side veins drained high into the superior vena cava. Surgical correction of this abnormality was successfully performed.

Coronary anomalies occur in a very small proportion of the general population. One such anomaly is a single ostium coronary artery (SOCA). Primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in SOCA can pose significant challenges due to anatomical complexity or hardware selection.

Steady-state currents generically occur both in systems with continuous translation invariance and in nonequilibrium settings with particle drift. In either case, thermal fluctuations advected by the current act as a source of noise for slower hydrodynamic modes. This noise is unconventional, since it is highly correlated along spacetime rays.

We report the case of a 15-year-old boy with severe mitral valve insufficiency due to an anomalous mitral arcade. Both papillary muscles were elongated and attached directly to the anterior leaflet, creating an arcade shape. He underwent an operation using a right minithoracotomy approach under three-dimensional endoscopic vision.
