Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is associated with a poor prognosis, making its accurate detection vital for treatment planning. This systematic review critically examines the role of conventional cytomorphology (CC) and multiparameter flow cytometry (FC) in analyzing cerebrospinal fluid in acute lymphoblastic leukemia cases. While CC remains the gold standard, its sensitivity is limited, particularly in cases with low cell counts.

Background/objectives: This is a retrospective review of 36 patients with electrodiagnostic (EDX) confirmation of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and ultrasound (US) detection of marked median nerve enlargement (defined as a cross-sectional area [CSA] of 40 mm or greater) at the wrist.

Methods: We describe the clinical, electrodiagnostic (EDX), and US findings in these patients and discuss the pathophysiologic basis of a markedly enlarged median nerve.

Results: The markedly enlarged median nerve was detected by US in a total of 39 hands (36 patients, with 3 bilateral).

Objectives: The Movement Disorders Society clinical diagnostic criteria for Parkinson's disease (MDS-PD) allow highly sensitive and specific diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. However, their adoption has been limited due to lack of a clinical decision support (CDS) tool to support clinicians and researchers in systematically and accurately applying the MDS-PD criteria.

Materials And Methods: We have developed and evaluated a CDS platform for PD (CDS-PD) as a modular and extensible informatics platform with comprehensive functionalities for recording relevant patient information.
