The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of misdiagnosis of sinus headache in migraine and other primary headache types in the children and adolescents with chronic or recurrent headaches. Children with chronic or recurrent headaches (n = 310) were prospectively evaluated. Data collection for each patient included history of previously diagnosed sinusitis due to headache, and additional sinusitis complaints (such as fever, cough, nasal discharge, postnasal discharge) at the time of sinusitis diagnosis, and improvement of the headache following treatment of sinusitis. If sinus radiographs existed they were recorded. The study included 214 patients with complete data. One hundred and sixteen (54.2%) patients have been diagnosed as sinusitis previously and 25% of them had at least one additional complaint, while 75% of them had none. Sinusitis treatment had no effect on the headaches in 60.3% of the patients. Sinus graphy had been performed in 52.8%, and 50.4% of them were normal. The prevalence of sinus headache concomitant with primary headache, and only sinus headache was detected in 7 and 1%, respectively, in our study. Approximately 40% of the patients with migraine and 60% of the patients with tension-type headache had been misdiagnosed as "sinus headache". Children with chronic or recurrent headaches are frequently misdiagnosed as sinus headache and receive unnecessary sinusitis treatment and sinus graphy.

Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN), the most prevalent primary glomerulonephritis globally, is characterized by mesangial IgA deposition and heterogeneous clinical trajectories. Historically, management relied on renin-angiotensin system inhibition and empirical immunosuppression, yet high lifetime kidney failure risk persists despite optimized care. This review synthesizes advances in molecular pathogenesis, highlighting how the traditional multi-hit hypothesis-while foundational for targeted therapy development-fails to capture IgAN's recurrent, self-amplifying nature.

A 1-year-old intact Nigerian dwarf nulliparous doe was presented to the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, Large Animal Teaching Hospital in March 2024 for evaluation of recurrent perivulvar masses of 3 mo duration. Transcutaneous ultrasonographic examination of the labia and ventrolateral peri-vulvar area was carried out. This examination revealed a horizontally oriented, bilobed mass on the dorsal left labia majora, and a separate mass located directly below the ventral vulvar commissure.

This report presents the case of a 36-year-old man complaining of chronic low back pain and numbness along the posterolateral surface of the right leg. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a disc degeneration and protrusion at the L-S level and an extensive fluid-equivalent formation with a craniocaudal dimension of 8 cm at the S-S level. Initially, due to the minimal clinical complaints, the cyst was considered asymptomatic.

Objective: To analyze the correlation between interleukin-5 (IL-5), eosinophils (EOS), and immunoglobulin A (IgA) levels with schizophrenia, and assess their potential as auxiliary diagnostic markers for schizophrenia.
Methods: This study comprised 57 patients with first-episode schizophrenia and 340 patients with recurrent or chronic schizophrenia who were hospitalized at Beijing Huilongguan Hospital from March 2023 to August 2024, and 72 healthy volunteers were recruited as the control group. Fasting venous blood samples were collected from all participants on the second day after admission.

Chronic airway diseases are a group of diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma (BA), characterized pathologically by chronic airway inflammation, airway chronic mucus hypersecretion, and airway remodeling. Patients usually present with chronic coughing, expectoration, and dyspnea, and recurrent exacerbation is an important causative factor of increased mortality, along with the important triggers. Currently, existing treatment options cannot meet the clinical needs of chronic airway diseases.
