We compute the basic reproduction ratio of a SEIS model with n classes of latent individuals and bilinear incidence. The system exhibits the traditional behaviour. We prove that if R(0) < or = 1, then the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable on the nonnegative orthant and if R (0) > 1, an endemic equilibrium exists and is globally asymptotically stable on the positive orthant.

In this paper, we propose a general latent HIV infection model with general incidence and three distributed delays. We start with the analysis of the proposed model by establishing the positivity and boundedness of solutions and calculating basic reproduction number R0. Then, we show that the infection-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable when R0<1 (is globally attractive when R0=1), while the disease is uniformly persistent when R0>1.

Global challenges posed by freshwater scarcity and the water-energy nexus drive demand for novel macromolecular design of tailored nanostructures endowed with a variety of hydrophilic and hydrophobic features. Offering potential to meet this demand, metal-organic framework (MOF) materials are synthesized from coordinated formations that create versatile reticular structures with variable water adsorption affinities. However, advances in the fundamental understanding of water interactions within these structures are impeded by the failure of classical analyses to identify mechanisms of interaction, connect fundamental isotherm types, and provide appropriate benchmarks for assessment.

Random objects are complex non-Euclidean data taking values in general metric spaces, possibly devoid of any underlying vector space structure. Such data are becoming increasingly abundant with the rapid advancement in technology. Examples include probability distributions, positive semidefinite matrices and data on Riemannian manifolds.

This paper addresses the output stabilization problem for a class of networked switched nonlinear planar systems with continuous-time observers and inter-sample output predictors. The output is sampled at instants determined by two mechanisms, a static event-triggered sampling mechanism and a dynamic one, respectively. Then, combined with the predicted output provided by the inter-sample output predictors, switched continuous-time observers are deliberately developed to estimate the unmeasurable states.
