Article Abstract
A series of monocyclic thiazepine inhibitors of interleukin-1beta converting enzyme (ICE) were synthesized in eight steps from commercially available intermediates. In vitro biological evaluation showed the thiazepines to be moderately potent ICE inhibitors, with the most active compound exhibiting an IC50 value of 30 nM in an enzyme inhibition assay. Compounds of this class possessed good selectivity against the related enzymes caspase-3 and caspase-8.

Background: The mechanisms underlying quetiapine's effects on anxiety- and depression-like behaviors induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) remain unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of quetiapine in a rat model of CUMS.
Materials And Methods: In the first experiment, 40 adult female Wistar albino rats were randomly assigned to either a control group (non-stressed, n = 20) or a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) group (n = 20) for 28 consecutive days.

Torsion of the ovary is a gynecologic emergency that occurs when the ovary and fallopian tube rotate around the infundibulopelvic ligament, causing ischemic changes in the adnexa. Tianeptine is an atypical antidepressant that has been shown to be effective in treatment-resistant depression and has fewer side effects than other antidepressants. In this study, the protective effect of tianeptine on ovarian ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in female rats was evaluated.
